Chose this restaurant without looking at tripadvisor first. Big mistake. On arrival I asked for the table for 2 at the front of the restaurant overlooking the Moselle River. Was told that this table was reserved. Even though we were eating quite late and stayed for over 1.5 hours nobody arrived to claim the table. I had the schnitzel special... More

The servers were nice enough and the view was lovely but the food was mediocre. They brought my husband the wrong dish (stir fry with noodles) he got a curry dish with rice that was so greasy he couldn't even eat it all. I had the Argentine Salad which was pretty good but had a weird dressing on it. Nowhere... More

Huge disappointment! We had to go do this restaurant as we were visiting Cochem outside of Tourist season and most restaurants oddly closed by 6pm. It was either this restaurant or the one next door bumping club music (way to take away from the romantic Mosel experience). Both places, unfortunately, had men standing at the stairs of the restaurant trying... More

We ate here on our first night in Cochem. I ordered pork fillet but it was just a pork steak. Food was ok but a bit disappointing. Service was basic and not particularly welcoming or friendly. Nice view from the terrace over the Mosel. The Ratskeller is a much better restaurant.

Was looking for a steak meal in Cochem on the Mosel Germany and was pleasantly surprised at this restaurant. Yes was looking at menu outside and was approached by waiter, asked if I needed help, just to ask if needed. Was not pushy was hungry went in. Nice seat, great for people watching and checking out the river. Had the... More

Good job that I'd not read the majority of the reviews before venturing inside...... I fancied a steak, and ordered the peppered steak, and requested fries with my steak. The waiter took my order and it arrived perfectly cooked. One thing that put me off slightly was the owner puts staff out into the street to encourage the public into... More

I was one of the party of 6 with Kevin O visiting on June 14th 2013, and I have to say it was funny when the waitress came out with a pepper grinder to convert his plain sauce into a PepperCorn Sauce. When this was refused and the plate taken away you can imagine the comments we were all making.... More

Well 6 ate all disappointed Potato wedges were the highlight! Steak with red wine and pepper sauce came as steak in gravy, pointed out no pepper in the sauce was offered a pepper mill! With a look that could kill I refused took the steak away and returned moments later the steak arrived back the waitress / supervisor had ground... More

Went here with a group of four, two of us had steak (the menu for steaks and schnitzels is impressive), and two of us had fish. Steaks were pretty good, a nice piece of meat and properly cooked. One of the fishes ordered (Scholle) was good, the other one (Backfisch) was not good, but it was exchanged promptly for a... More

When you are for the first time in Cochem and try to decide which restaurant on the waterfront you are going to select for lunch, you have a problem. Many establishments try to entice you with cosy tables and a promising menu. Why we finally sat down at the "Cochemer Weinstube" I cannot remember, but we never regretted the choice.... More
