They brew their own beer, but............

We made reservations for dinner here, the food was really pretty good & surprisingly affordable, but they don't serve the local popular beer, being they brew their own, now having said that.. Back to the food, the service was top notch, fast & friendly, it's absolutely stunning decor you can't... read more

One of my favorite restaurants on the Mosel--excellent meals, great beer and the scenery is amazing--especially when dining out in the garden. Also a highlight is the Krypta-Kloster Destille (schnapps keller) in the basement--dozens of interesting liquors to try.

The Brauhaus at Kloster Machern is a great place to take large groups of people. While we were there during the winter, I'm sure it's just as inviting during warmer weather! Very professional staff with great service. Menu has English description beneath the Deutsch. The bier was good, but not especially memorable. I didn't have any wine, that evening, but... More

By chance we saw a display window in Trier which mentioned the Brauhaus Kloster Machern. I quickly entered the name in my Google Maps and found out it was 40minutes away and off we were for our day trip. What a beautiful setting. We arrived as a slew o para-sailers were floating above the convent. A great restaurant and staff.... More

We went as part of a large group and was amazed as we walked in the door. This place is decorated exquisitely and their food is wonderful. I suggest ordering their brot-kartoffel (fried sliced potatoes) over pommes frites (French fries) with a meal. Do expect to wait a while for your food...but it is worth it both in atmosphere of... The food is fine, it's commercial rather than gourmet but the prices do reflect that. While the grape spritz and their own-brewed beer is great... there's a but... Twice now, the outdoor table staff really seem to have better things to do with their time. Within, in contrast, the regular team are great. During our lunch we were buzzed by... More

Our first visit was a sunny day when we found the Brauhaus and decided to stop for lunch on the terrace. The waiter was very friendly, the food was great and as rain threatened the waiter invited us to finish our drinks inside. We enjoyed is so much we decide to drive 35 minutes there for dinner two days later... More

We were introduced to Kloster Machern by friends who were full of praise for the venue. Parking is limited and can need a lot of maneuvering, The buildings and grounds are well manicured and pleasant to view. The shop is touristic and overpriced. The outside dining area, on a paved terrace, is typical of Biergarten in Germany. What can be... More

We stumbled across the Bauhaus and were delighted by our find. The building itself is very imposing and the courtyard areas seemed very attractive too. The weather hadn't been warm enough for us so we chose to eat inside. The main bar and restaurant are very tastefully decorated and the seating areas are also very comfortable. We were welcomed and... More
