The service was friendly and quite efficient. Food portions were generous. The quality of the meal we had was only average. If you want a quick meal and don't need lots of ambiance this one might do.

The restaurant is cosy with a good river view the staff are friendly and helpful, happy to speak English and humoured me with my schoolboy German pronunciation. Food was enjoyable but not spectacular, however my wife did state that the tomato soup was the best she had ever tasted.

Wife and three kids had a early supper. We had the potato sauerkraut soup and the broccoli soup and salads. Very good. The two young boys had schnitzel and fries. They never had schnitzel and loved it. They are picky. Daughter had broccoli soup and salad. Wife had potato dumplings with mushroom cream sauce. I had potato dumplings with onions... More

My wife and I chose this restaurant for its view of the river at dusk. We ordered fish and roast dinners, respectively. The waiter was very nice and attentive, but the food was only mediocre. Not bad, but not really good. Still, the river view was worth it.

My family of 5 ate here on a Saturday night. It was not very busy inside. Our server was very friendly and even got someone to help with my annoying questions about one of the meals:) I ordered the potato dumplings that were stuffed with meat and had bacon and onions on the outside ( can't recall the name of... We got into Sankt Goar around 6:30pm one evening only to find that almost every restaurant was closed except for this one. We ate inside because it was raining - the restaurant was nice and had plenty of room for both large and small groups (we had 6). The menu was in German, but had English explanations below. The server... More

We stopped here for lunch after riding to Sankt Goar on the Koln-Dusseldorfer boat. I ordered herb roasted pork with boiled potatoes and Brussels sprouts---very good with beautiful presentation---and a delicious black beer. As noted in a previous review, they don't take credit cards.

Schnitzel, onions and four kinds of potatoes! Sauerbraten, red cabbage, potato dumplings! Grande beer. Fantastic. Does not take credit card. Get a table overlooking the river.

Classic German restaurant style; the food, however, was not. Schnitzel was too salty to eat; dumplings were tastless and gluey. Thank goodness for German beer! Maybe a bad night in the kitchen? Staff seemed distracted.

We had just arrived after an overnight flight and train trip from the airport and decided to start our German food adventures with classic sauerbraten and beer. The meat was tender and delicious, and the red cabbage and potato dumplings were great. The patio overlooks the Rhine which provided a great backdrop to our first meal of the vacation!
