Restating the obvious, people like different beer. Personally I prefer many many types of Bavarian brew but also love Kölsch from the west and Radeberger from the east. Vogel is way below those brewing standards. It could be their relatively short history from 1980s or plain wrong recipe. Their pills is way too sour while their wiess is just ok... More

We went to the Vogel brewery for a family meal, at about 6.30pm on a Weds. It seemed as though half the village had beaten us to it! All ages, all having a great time. We ate extremely reasonably from the carvery, traditional German food. Of course we sampled the Dinkel beer, and the house beer too. Great service, and... More

This is local favorite. Big room, big food, good beer, loud. Went with a group and we had a good time drinking the beer, brewed on premise. I was surprised how well they make their alcohol-frei beers these days and how popular they are with the locals.

Great sausages, soups, and beer! Only downside is no english menu and most of the waitstaff do not speak english.

Even for Germany and Baden-Baden standarts, this beer is as good as it can ever get. A lot of insiders go there to drink.

I tried two beers and both were excellent. The service was good. Clearly liked by many is the place was packed each day I was in the area. The food was average bar-grade food with lots of pork offering.

The beer, which was why we came to the Vogel, was outstanding! The food was quite salty, but again, the focus is on the beer :) One exception were the pretzels with herbed butter - amazing!

Always make a point of visiting the Vogelbrau when visiting Waldbronn on business. Like the beer, the character and the food's not bad for 'pub grub'. Also you can pay on VISA. The Pils is excellent and often the seasonal beers are worth a try.

I asked at the hotel where to go for an authentic, inexpensive German meal. They immediately recommended Der Vogel and I’m glad they did. The restaurant was packed, almost exclusively with locals (although they do have an English menu) and they were serving an incredible volume of beer. Despite the crowds, and my lack of German skills, service was friendly... More

My wife and I lived for a while outside of Ettlingen, and every time we come back to Germany, we make sure we go to the Vogelbraeu. Now that we're no longer on a corporate expense account, the Vogelbraeu's prices are especially welcome. You can get a half-chicken off the grill with fried potatoes and another side, and 1/2 liter... More
