We were advised to go here by a friend in England as my partner likes his beer. It really is quite unusual inside with various galleries and nooks and crannies where you can eat we unfortunately did not sample the food but my partner sampled the local beers - he particularly enjoyed the paddle which contained 4 different beers to... After walking through Wernigerode I realized it is time to eat. The place doesn't look that big from the outside - in fact, the shop next door is rather disturbing.Inside, this place is huhe....The Food at lunchtime was very good - do not take an appetizer or dessert unless you are reeaallyyy hungry.

We had a very good meal here, lots of choice on the menu and very helpful staff. The food was good with some traditional dishes. We were not rushed and had an enjoyable evening.

We visited this establishment twice following a very positive first experience. It serves typical German food that is easily washed done with the local tipple, a cool pint of Halleröder beer. It is very popular and does get very busy over the weekends or holidays so either book beforehand or arrive later in the evening. It serves food to 10pm,... More

We were recommended to eat here by the hotel staff. The food was excellent, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was excellent. It's a bit like the TARDIS - only a few metres wide on the street, but extensive inside. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and would recommend the Brauhaus unreservedly.

Visited for 4 nights excellent choice of drinks - something to suit everyone from coffee to cocktails to various beers. Staff very friendly. Don't be deceived by how small it looks from the outside it is actually quite big inside and spread over 3 floors. You can quite happily just call in for a drink.

Perplexed by earlier reviews. Despite its name this is NOT a brewery. It sells the identical beer found in hundreds of other similar bars, from multinational brewing company InBev. Their gigantic Hasseröder brewery is in Wernigerode though, on the outskirts of town. They do sell Staropramen Granát though, which although part of the InBev empire, should still come from the... We only drank here so I can't review food. The bier is excellent; probably my second favorite brauerei from this holiday (first would be in Quedlinburg). The brauerei is on the main fussganger zone (pedestrian zone) about 1 1/2 blocks from Wernigerode's famous and super beautiful rathaus. We were there after hiking up and back to the castle above town... More

Brauhaus is in the middle of the pedestrien street of Wernigerode. It is an informal place with German Gemütchkeit at its best. They serve serve ample portions, mainly meat-dishes. Beer from their own production. The decorations refers to earlier handicraft traditions. Service is very efficient and friendly. One of the few places where waiters speaks english, but unfortunately no english... More
