God I really wanted to give this place a glowing review. The location is perfect. A quaint German village, the staff were charming - attentive, unpretentious and informative, the decor was stunning - typically minimalist with beams, wooden floors and white-washed walls with high ceilings that just ooze understated good taste. Then the food. Having a michelin star in their... More

We tried several dishes prepared by Chef Pade for a private party and everything was fabulous! The steaks were particularly delicious and my sweet tooth couldn't help but appreciate the charming desserts.

Atmosphere, staff, menu, practices, wine list and silverware as in a fine dining place – but prices as in a regular village inn. WE LOVED IT! No set menus, but in a la carte you could choose from a variety of small and big portions to suit your menu needs. We went for three small portions each, and it was... More

Nice, rebuilt building close the city center. Very attentive service, changing menu with a focus on seasonal ingredients. The owner is really into it ... just read his newsletter. Although premium priced, good value for money. Have been there three times and every time felt really good about the place.

As a long time regular of this restaurant which did offer a very good menu to very acceptable prices I was a bit afraid how it would turn out after he gave up the star and brought all together to the bistro concept. It is still the best kitchen in around half an hour of driving to make things very... More

Certainly the best formal dining to be had in Verden. Lots of stories about how it used to be 1* Michelin restaurant but he gave up trying to maintain the star due to the demands of it. Still retains that kind of feel and quality, with seasonal menu dictated by what is good and fresh at that time. Last time... More

I visited with a large group for dinner recently. We had a lovely evening and were able to sit on the patio long into the evening. The patio is a stunning space that was relaxing upon entry. The service was stellar and the food was fantastic! I enjoyed everything I tried (risotto soup - yum!, salmon - divine!). Definitely worth... More

I know this place for more than 5 years and I enjoyed it most of this time. Mr Pade - the owner and chef abandoned his Michelin star and switched to a bistro style concept (before that you had the choice between a bistro - which I visited for lunch - and the star decorated restaurant - much more expensive... We went to Pades from Bremen because of the Michelin recommendation and we were not disappointed. Restaurant and bistro are now one and the same and the result of the merger is very appealing: you get restraurant-quality food at bistro prices (soups at 5-7 euros, mains at 18-24 euros). Service was cordial and efficient as it usually is in Germany... More
