Authentic atmosphere-feel, sit with the locals and enjoy really good German food -"get to the point" waitresses. Trout was excellent, juicy pork meat with sides of sauerkraut & boiled potatos, the apple dessert (local speciality) was fantastic - crispy baked slices - YUM. Very affordable for the 4 of us, 3 course dinner with a round of smoked beer & local white wine with main course @ Euro 22/pp.

We had a very pleasant evening at Kachelofen eating tipical and traditional franconian food and enjoing very good regional beer. Personnel was very gentle and friendly. And when we went out the atmosphere was even more magic because there were 5cm of snow on the ground !

The food is wonderful, typical German. The people there are very friendly. Lovely tile oven (Kachelofen). Been there a few times with the German language school for foreigners - and I recommend it!

Nicely decorated room in a traditional bavarian style. Very tasty dinner with a selection of classical bavarian specialities. Normal prices and very efficient and friendly service. You can also have your dinner seating outdoors in a very lively street.

It was busy and noisy. Outside is nice, inside is typical old wooden pub. Food is unhealthy good and the local beer is very good. But it was too full, and busy had to seat close to unknown people in the same table. Come here is you really want Bavarian food and are in a good extrovert mood.

Our family loves this restaurant. If you happen to be visiting between late April and early June take the opportunity to order the white asparagus dishes. The white asparagus soup is amazing and a must try. The traditional jagerschnitzel is fantastic and some of the best you will find in Germany. The potato soup is very good and we would... More

I highly recommend this restaurant. The waiter was very friendly to us. I ordered Schäuferla which is Bamberg specialty and was good. The portion was so large that I could not finish it all. I will go there again I visit this city again. The best service I have ever seen in Germany since I stayed here.
