An excellent pub who were most accommodating for our large group at no notice. The variety of choice on the menu was great and the food was perfectly cooked. We couldn't fault the service, it was friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble and the pub was busy with bookings. The children in the group were very well catered... More

I visited on a Friday night in July for a meal and was told that although the tables indoors were fully booked, I was welcome to eat outside in the garden. As it was a beautiful summer evening, this suited me very well! I ordered a portion of fish and chips which was absolutely huge and I thoroughly enjoyed it,... More

This was recommended by a friend and we booked for lunch. Had we not pre booked we probably would not have got a table as the restaurant was very busy, The menu certainly offered an excellent choice, and the fish pie selected, did not disappoint and was excellent. the sweets were to "die for", and the lemon posset stood out.... On a recent visit to Suffolk we booked this restaurant for a family gathering of 12 (8 adults, 4 children and a baby) as it had been recommended to us. Nothing was too much trouble and you can imagine the choices made were various. All the meals were served at the same time which is not easy when you have... More

What an excellent inn, pub, restaurant this has become! We stayed for a few days in late July. The bedroom was large, comfortable and well equipped and you always knew you were in an inn with history! The bar room was a lovely small country room with a mix of locals and visitors and the restaurant served excellent food with... More

oddly enough on a summers evening we turned up to find that on a sunny Sunday evening they didn't do food for the outside tables, as they needed to concentrate on the inside tables, odd they they couldn't even offer a limited menu irrespective of where you sit, the sad thing is we are locals and perhaps venues like this... After a day out in Sourhwold my party of twelve, (seven adults and five children), were in need of an evening meal on our journey home. We had noticed The White Horse that morning, thought it looked lovely and thought we would try our luck as hadn't booked anywhere. When we arrived we were informed that they were fully booked... Have eaten at this PH in the past under old management which was poor. BUT, not now!! Cannot rate the pub highly enough. Traditional English pub serving excellent home cooked food. Nicely decorated and clean throughout. Service the best!! Both ladies serving were so friendly but professional. Food portions were generous but of an excellent quality and I defy you... More

Excellent menu for good pub food. We ate here twice in one week whilst staying nearby because we were so impressed and the second time were surprised to see Ed Sheeran having a drink outside. The service is efficient and friendly, the portions are good (vegetable sides/salad not so good) and the food is delicious. The restaurant was fully booked... More
