4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014 NEW

We visited for lunch on a Tuesday, driving some 25 minutes with the assistance of a SatNav to locate the out-of-the way establishment. It was a bit of a blow to hear that the kitchen was out of service, due to a failed repair after a fire at the week-end. This was surprising, since I had spoken to the owner... More

Reading the reviews on here I was a little dubious after we booked our voucher on amazon. But we planned to have a nice inexpensive meal in a nice pub - this is exactly what got. The barmaid was really friendly, we chose to sit outside and there were cozy little roofed areas to sit in. We were explained to... More

First visit since the reopening and what a disappointment. Under the previous management the Kings Arms was an excellent, well-run country pub with great food, a welcoming atmosphere and attention to detail that made it stand out from the crowd. Its Good Food Guide listing was well deserved and I visited several times to eat in the restaurant or garden.... More

Similar experience to kissi068. We had a Groupon offer which advised Fresh Fish would be £4 surcharge - we were hit with 2 surcharges for mussels and crayfish starters - not my idea of Fresh Fish! This meant we ended up paying full price for food which defeats the point of Groupon offers. The large TV was playing Corry whilst... More

We took advantage of Amazon local vouchers to eat here. The food was nice, but.... We had to push past a gaggle of smokers huddled in the doorway (it was raining), then step over small children playing in the main room of the pub. The screaming from one toddler was almost unbearable until the family left (a local and regular... More

If you think that by looking at the web site and menu you will know what food is on offer then be warned. The web site is years out of date and does not reflect in any way the menu at the Kings Arms. Be warned also that if you purchase a voucher deal from one of the big sites... More

Went to the opening night. The land lord Marcus is very friendly and there was great live music. Can't wait to try the locally sourced menu when the new Italian tenants take over in a few weeks

Visited on a weekday evening lovely garden, nice decor although a bit dark, clean and well laid out. Very very limited menu and struggled to find something, nearly left. Bar maid unfriendly and didn't even crack a smile. They do a dish a night to inc a glass of wine we asked if by any chance the chef had some... More

Visited the King's Arms for a Sunday lunch with the family recently, lovely bar / restaurant. Very relaxed atmpsphere and very friendly staff. Sunday lunch was delicious, one of the best I have had in a pub for a long time. Relaxed but efficient service from happy staff. really enjoyed our time there. loking forward to returning.

We booked here on a recommendation and on entering the premises were greeted by the most sullen waitress we have ever encountered. The food was ok however the roast beef with all the trimmings was missing the vegetables because the chef forgot to send them out. We only realised this when another table got their roasts after we had eaten.... More
