Not quite as good as it should or could be

Yes this looks a very smart restaurant in a posh hotel. Sadly the young staff, brisk service and neauvue cuisine ( small portions) did not create the atmosphere we would have expected for a 100 Euro meal. When asked if everything was ok and we replied that the pork was rather salty the waiter... read more

If you are looking for modern, this is not the hotel for you. Located in the medieval part of town. Our room was up many stairs and even had a small, 7 step staircase, from the sleeping area to the bathroom. The shower is not good for anyone 6 ft tall or taller -- your head would touch the ceiling.... More

Both dinner and breakfast settings are spectacular. You can't help but feel you have been gently moved back in time - with service to match. The menu and quality of food is excellent.

It may be unfair to judge a restaurant on its very restricted brasserie menu terrace lunch on a Sunday but the limited choices were not great. The terrace is a highlight and the views from the Haute Ville of Vaison, where the hosteller dominates the view with its tower, are spectacular. The set meal was very inexpensive but needed to... This is our second stay at the hotel, the first being two years ago. Both were for ten days as part of a bike group and we couldn't be happier. John and the staff would go out of there way to be helpful. The best part is hard to choose. As the weather was nice breakfasts were out on the... More

Charming hostellerie with very good service. Lovely setting with pool and garden. Be prepared for climbing hills in the Haute Ville, and stairs in the Hostellerie. Breakfast was a nice buffet which included cheese, meat, pastries, cereals, etc. Rooms are large. We were warned about the church bells ringing late at night, but apparently that has been stopped and it... More

Had booked to sit outside in the terrace but due to rain we were seated in the dining room which was slightly formal. Food was very good with a varied menu which offered either fixed price 3 courses or A La Carte. Staff were very helpful. Would eat here again.

Not "haute cuisine," but represents local specialties--we ate here nine days out of ten and thoroughly enjoyed it. The inner courtyard dining area has a wonderful ambience on warm summer days.

Go for lunch when you can enjoy the view in daylight, because it is spectacular. In the shadow of the bell tower, overlooking the medieval city, the roman city with the rolling hills in the distance. The lunch menu is simple, but it is one of the few places that will carry a large, meal-sized, salad for lunch.
