We ate here in October and had a wonderful evening meal. The female waiter was very helpful and pleasant when I asked about a local fruit. She tried to find a translation on Google to explain the Physalis to me. The food was very good and it was nice to be in a restaurant where all the other patrons were... More

I own Le Classic French restaurant in Brisbane , Australia. and let me tell you that on my French trip we came across La Bartavelle, the food was superb, the service very friendly, no arrogant French here... a night to remember. I will recommend it to all my friends. and the little town of vaison la romaine is just a... More

On a super hot summers day we were walking the streets searching for this favourite amongst locals. Really diffuclt to find but was worth it! For 29 euro pp we enjoyed an excellent meal with great Rose wine by the glass. I had prawns flambeed in Pastis and so did hubby - very rich but to die for. I had... More

Our French friends, who live nearby and work in Vaison-la-Romaine, took us to La Baravelle on June 2. It was great. The service and food were fantastic. Because the restaurant is off the beaten path, I believe that's its secret. There were only locals there during our visit. The three course lunch, plus amuse bouche was everything you could imagine... More

My husband and I selected this restaurant from our Rick Steves' guide book and made reservations for 7:30 on a Tuesday evening in May. It's definitely off the beaten track and nothing special from the outside, but the restaurant itself has an appealing ambiance. My husband ordered the special menu for 24 euros (an eggplant starter, chicken, assorted cheeses and... More

We were with a party of eight diners, a situation to deter many kitchens in providing adequate and friendly service. Never the less , our excellent five course meal, which included two innovative amuse bouches, was a pleasure throughout. The busy atmosphere ,the attentive service ,the extensive menu, and the French ambiance gave us much satisfaction in this fine restaurant. Good... More

We've eaten here lots of times, and it has always been excellent, and we are very fussy eaters, we like good food. The owner let me mix and match as I don't like desserts much so he let me do starter and main instead. This is where we take people who visit us.

we have made a reservation there due to another couple that was at the same B&B as we were at that time. When you search the place and find it (away from the city centre), your first impression would be not to enter the place while it is not very appealing. But... you will be surprised by the level of... More

We are staying in the neighbourhood of Vaison La Romaine at least 2-3 times a year. Each time, we are having lunch at the Bartavelle. The small lunch menu is gorgeous and typical Provence with fresh products from the region. Wine card is extensive and prices acceptable for each budget. This in combination with the kindness of the chef and... More
