To say that Le Bateleur would be a top French restaurant in any city in America does not do it justice: This restaurant could draw diners from miles around, and at two or three times the price. If you are in the Vaison area, you should go out of your way to visit. My wife and I had an absolutely... More

we could not get into another restaurant we had hoped to but the owner of that place very generously called le Bateleur for us and we walked over for what turned out to be a delicious meal. The staff were very friendly, the room was tastefully decorated and the meal was a delight. We both chose the higher priced menu... More

My wife, son & I visited this restaurant during our stay in Vaison La Romaine. The restaurant in located just around the corner from the Roman bridge and has some seating overlooking the Ouvese River and the opposing haute ville. The service was excellent. We arrived near the end of the midday dinner period, but we were not rushed and... More

In such a beautiful village this lovely restaurant is very classy. The presentation was exquisite; the entree and dessert were 'first class'. Service was very, very good. I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch.

Our hostess sent us to Le Bateleur last night. This is a small place with less than 12 tables and was quite charming. The food was displayed in a very lovely manner and was quite tasty. They offer different groups of courses. We had the fall Provence combination. The only complaint I had was that there were not enough wait... More

Although the menu is a little limited we were very pleased with the plat du jour. All of the courses were full of flavour and cooked to perfection. The staff were delightful and attentive. We couldn't fault anything about the meal and service.

Le Bateleur deserves it's high Trip Advisor rating. The chef creates inventive dishes around themes, for example a melon soup, melon tartare and melon mouse, that not only work visually but are delicious. We had a chicken pie that was just perfect. Not huge portions but lots of between course little treats. Our table overlooked the river and the old... More

We really enjoyed our meal at Le Bateleur! The service was excellent and the atmosphere really nice. The menu is somewhat limited in choice. It's a very nice touch that they serve some small appetizers before serving the meal. Can recommend this restaurant to anyone!

What a cracking meal. We booked for lunch - wife and two children eight and ten - and we were very well looked after. There is a children's menu which is great - cod or lamb with elegantly prepared veg. Our two were a bit overwhelmed to begin with but enjoyed both main courses and a formidable chocolatey desert complete... More

We definitely liked the atmosphere and the quality of the food, and you could have a nice view of the river if you wanted. it's just that price was a bit high for the town and the food. No actual problems. The dessert really was a fun whimsy, neatly decorated and silly in a good way.
