Would use again........

The restaurant is a bit dull and agree with previous reviewers that the ambiance is a bit lacking. We found the waitresses very good and one was quite good fun too. The food was excellent and unlike the previous reviewer did not see how it could have been frozen or shrink wrapped! The... read more

We just left the Hostellerie du Pont de Gau where we had lunch and were helped by the gracious owner Gerard Ferri and his wife Giselle. We accidentally put gas in the Diesel engine so had to get towed from Saints Marie de la Mer to Arles where we are sitting at a garage. The lunch was okay... when I... More

Eat but dont stay!!! Friendly welcome, but bathplug jammed and couldnt stop water flowing out. Unsuccessfully attacked with a knife by member of staff. Shower didnt work. Bags quickly taken to another room where once water turned on in bath, couldnt turn off. Patron fixed. Lights went out just left with a standard lamp, bathroom pitch dark in night. Decor... More

On your way to "Les Saintes Maries de la Mer", a nice place to take a break. Kind o a family managed business, quiet and peaceful. A surprising menu and the dining room that goes with it ! The four course diner was excellent with the paired wines. First class attention by the waitresses. An important note for the pet... More

This restaurant has zero atmosphere. The welcome was warm and the waitresses very nice but the service unprofessional - the main course was served so quickly after the aperitif that they whipped my olives away that I was enjoying! The dishes were served in quick succession hence probably frozen/shrink-wrapped and pre-prepared (it certainly looked and tasted like it). My bull... More

We have just returned from a photography trip to the Camargue. The Hostellerie du Pont de Gau was our group's hotel although we stayed in a gite near by. We ate at the Hostellerie twice. The staff were kindness itself but the quality of the food did not reflect the cost , we felt that we paid well over the... More

This is not our first visit to this modest but very friendly place situated, conveniently, next to the ornithological park. The welcome, as always was friendly and the menu at €23.00 represented good value for money with 4 courses. Naturally faux filets de toreau (steaks from the local bulls) were sampled by most and it was deemed to be perfectly... More

The restaurant is next to the entrance to the Parc Ornithologique in the Camargue. It's unpretentious looking but inside one is treated royally. Even though we eat very lightly at lunchtime (especially if we have a large bird sanctuary to walk round afterwards) the welcome was gracious and they included a very tasty amuse bouche. Each of us had a... More

Typically french decor, very friendly and helpful staff. I gave the 5 stars to the restaurant but sadly the hotel advertised as 2 stars in France is extremely basic and in need of serious redecoration. A one star in England. The bathrooms have not been upgraded since the 60's. Again cleaning staff were excellent and friendly. This hotel is next... More

We have stopped there on a day-trip in the Camargue, on advise of our travel guide book. I have to admit that we were hesitating because of that and because of the rather very touristic area. However, we were more than positively surprised. Although weekday lunch, shortly before closing time, we got excellent food, including special kid's portions for our... More
