Great Fresh Seafood and Soup de Poisson.

The owner, jean Marie, is very inter active with his guests. it is very hard to NOT have a good time here. They bring the very fresh fish to the table before they prepare it. The spoupe de poisson is loaded with rich flavor and keeps coming untill you say fini. Reservations highly recommended... read more

Each year when I visit Cassis I call in on Jean-Marie's Bonaparte restaurant. I have the same things- moules starter followed by loup or dorade fish courses. The fish is really fresh, precisely and unfussily cooked, washed down with a local white wine. What I really enjoy is how Jean-Marie gets customers from different countries to talk over dinner- the... More

The food was excellent and the service was just as great. The server/chef (not sure) was just a blast. Infectious smile and advice on what to eat. The fish soup wasn't great to me (not my thing) but literally every table around me was inhaling it. I had fresh sea bass. Superb.

We dined here twice on our recent visit to Cassis. It is a traditional French country restaurant without the pretentiousness or the high prices of those on the harbour. On the first occasion we chose the menu de jour which was an excellent daube provencal. This convinced us to order a bouillabaisse for the following day to celebrate a birthday.... More

Quiet and good ambience and nice staff. Fish was very fresh. But food was a bit salty and does not have impressive flavor. In a sense portions were too big.

We loved this place. We only spent one night in cassis so we have no comparisons in the town but we were very happy we chose it. We started with oysters/jumbo shrimp platter and then had simply grilled sea bass and dorado for our entrees. Everything was super fresh and the fish were perfectly cooked/seasoned. The owner is a jovial,... More

We were in Cassis on day trip from Avignon. This restaurant was suggested to serve very authentic bouillabaisse on an internet forum. We went there and staff introduced us to 25 Euro lunch fixe prix menu, we did consider bouillabaisse but decided against it as it must be booked at least a couple of days in advance. The staff spoke... More

We visited Le Bonaparte on the recommendation of our landlady and were not disappointed. We had fish and prawns, accompanied by baby roast potatoes and some ratatouille, all very good. The staff were very attentive and helpful with the menu considering our limited french. There were children dining outside alongside of us and the staff made quite of fuss of... More

We were here in Cassis 3 years ago, and we ate at this restaurant 3 times in 6 days we liked it so much. We returned again this month, and it is as good as ever. The food is excellent, particularly the fish, and reasonably priced. In fact, probably the best VALUE to be found in Cassis. The service is... More

very popular dining spot in Cassis. The seafood was delicious and reasonably priced. Make sure you make a reservation to get an outdoor table!
