A must if in Cassis

We had a lovely fish meal here (fish soup, sea bream and chocolate fondant from the set menu). It was as delicious as the first time (2 years ago) when we tried the 'bouillabaisse'. Our friends had moules gratinées and meat dishes (steak and lamb) and they were equally impressed. The staff are... read more

Le Bonaparte is located on a lovely side street near the Cassis port. The ambiance is delightful, and the maître d' exceptional. Although he did not speak much English and I spoke little French he was warm, welcoming and attentive. His waiters were the opposite. They forgot my wine, did not speak, smile or give any eye contact and at... More

I enjoyed a great lunch here on my last day in Cassis. The menu of the day is terrific value, especially for a town full of tourists. Each course was simple but flavoursome and fresh. Had I been in town longer I would definitely have returned.

My boyfriend brought me to Cassis, his childhood vacation paradise. He remembered this restaurant as his parents and grandparents favorite. We opted for the menu with appetizer, meal, and dessert. The fish (solette) was fresh and delicious. The tarte tatin was to die for. We had a local rose that complimented the meal wonderfully. The service was attentive but not... More

The feeling that I got from this place is that it is an old standard that is resting on it's laurels. We made a reservation 2 days in advance, and asked for an outside table, which was affirmed. We ended up being seated just on the inside/outside border, which had two downfalls: this is where the flies seemed to gather... More

One of our reasons for coming back to Cassis from Australia was to enjoy the excellent food and the wonderful ambience at Le Boneaparte. After a 5 year wait we ate there again last night and were not disappointed! The 3 course meal was great value and the "jet fuel" and cassis digestif shots offered by the host finished off... More

We'd made a reservation earlier that day, but when we arrived the table seemed to be still occupied. The staff was very helpful and uncomplicated though, they'd set up an additional table at the end of the row of tables. The food was good - I was hoping for moules and fish all day. It might not have been the... More

We go to Cassis every year and the first evening in town, we visit Le Bonaparte. Our trip will be coming up again this September, and yes, once again, we will have the delightful night out starting at Le Bonaparte. I have not had better lamb, potatoes, salad and bread, even in my own home kitchen! There are many fish... More

Went with my wife in Sunday evening. I had a really good steak with a nice dessert to follow. My wife enjoyed her salmon and dessert too! The older gentleman who took our order was very pleasant and hard working. His younger colleagues who did work hard could have smiled occasionally. However well worth a visit.
