Great Service and Food!

Normally we do not take lobster but because of the fixed menu we took this. The starter with Oisters and gamba's (i asked if they were clean) we got double oisters because they were little but a great taste! and the Owner? cleaned our gamba's. Then a half real fresh lobster (showen at our table... read more

The owner greeted us personally and made sure we were served promptly. The food was exceptional, including some of the best mussels we've ever had. It was nice to have a more personal and less touristy dining experience.

Eat there twice in three days as it was so good. Friendly owner and staff. Good value set menus especially the crevettes and lobster (only 53 euros incl. desert.)

Had a great lunch time meal in this restaurant today. Good menu choice, friendly service, and very fresh fish. Not too expensive either!

After two experiences of restaurants on the quayside with great views but underwhelming food, we followed the advice that says you get a better meal in the sidestreets. As the view is not the selling point, the food has to better. This was certainly the case at Bonaparte where the fish was fresh, tasty and beautifully but simply cooked. The... More

The owner, jean Marie, is very inter active with his guests. it is very hard to NOT have a good time here. They bring the very fresh fish to the table before they prepare it. The spoupe de poisson is loaded with rich flavor and keeps coming untill you say fini. Reservations highly recommended, Loved the place so much went... More

Each year when I visit Cassis I call in on Jean-Marie's Bonaparte restaurant. I have the same things- moules starter followed by loup or dorade fish courses. The fish is really fresh, precisely and unfussily cooked, washed down with a local white wine. What I really enjoy is how Jean-Marie gets customers from different countries to talk over dinner- the... More

The food was excellent and the service was just as great. The server/chef (not sure) was just a blast. Infectious smile and advice on what to eat. The fish soup wasn't great to me (not my thing) but literally every table around me was inhaling it. I had fresh sea bass. Superb.

We dined here twice on our recent visit to Cassis. It is a traditional French country restaurant without the pretentiousness or the high prices of those on the harbour. On the first occasion we chose the menu de jour which was an excellent daube provencal. This convinced us to order a bouillabaisse for the following day to celebrate a birthday.... More

Quiet and good ambience and nice staff. Fish was very fresh. But food was a bit salty and does not have impressive flavor. In a sense portions were too big.
