The sea food was very good and competitively priced but the young men serving were casual, forgetful and offhand verging on the outright rude. There are many other alternatives on the harbour front which you can check out before risking an annoying experience here. BEWARE cash or cheque only-NO CREDIT CARDS

This review is only based on the service provided by the "wonderful" Eric, a french man who seems to either be the owner or the one who is in charge of seating guests at the tables. Let me rewind to my wonderful 2-night stay in Cassis, a small and quaint town 20 minutes from Marseille filled with small shops, beautiful... More

We were a group of 11 with some small kids. It was a windy and rainy day so we were lucky to have an inside table (kind of an own space/room with a long table just for our group). The service was excellent but the main course (a grilled fish) a little bit disappointing. The appetizers were very good though.... More

As Cornish seafood lovers we were recommended this restaurant, but it was so busy and when a table became available after 20 mins we were hurried continuously. The waiters were flying around with no real time to explain the menu. The fish arrived with no presentation and full of bones. I know it was August but we ate at another... More

We read about this in a guide book or two and it was highly recommended. Got there before noon but it wasn't open so we stuck around. Good thing because it filled up fast and soon they were turning folks away. I ordered the house fish soup but they brought a large tureen and bowls for two. It was definitely... More

We arrived in Cassis for the evening from Marseille - we were overcome by the number of restuarants and really found it quite difficult to chose........when we did however, we had a very lucky find, and soon discovered that we were even luckier to get seated. The Bouillebasse was fantastic and definately enough to share between two! The moules were... More

We have been to Cassis 5 times now, and go back to Poissonerie every time...Eric, the owner is fantastic. Julien and Florian are excellent waiters, they know us well, remember our names and treat us like old friends. Check out the fish in the front of the restaurant as you are being seated, and choose what you feel like eating... More

We very much enjoyed our meal at Le Poissonerie in Cassis. The service was exceptional. Eric, who is either the owner or the manager, speaks excellent English and was a charming host. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. I very much enjoyed the Soup de Poisson (a specialty of the region) and my husband said that the mussles... More
