Bad, but expensive food

We had the bouillabaisse at 50 Euro per person, which would be okay for high quality fish. However, the fish and potatoes were completely overcooked and barely edible. Complaining was of little use. A once in a lifetime experience - never again.

This goes down in history as one of the worst meals I have ever had in a restaurant. We were a group of 6 in August 2013 (no option to go back that far on here), we all ordered mussels. After waiting for 30 minutes before our order was taken, the waiter failed to a understand our order (spoken in... More

After waiting for over an hour our food was finally served, but it was so terrible that we didn't eat it. We ordered a hamburger, mussels and fish. The burger was raw and the bread was roasted black. My fish was too much salted and almost all the mussels were closed. The staff was very busy and unfriendly.

We ate here this evening, when we had to wait ages to be served our meal. When it came, it was underwhelming. A soup and prawn salad followed by a very under- cooked and tough steak and mediocre paella with a bottle of rose all came to 125 euros. We would willing have paid this price for quality food. This,... More

We (2 adults, 2 hungry teens) fell into l'Auberge du Port as almost the first opportunity after alighting from the Île de Bendor ferry. Although the staff were very busy, olives were brought, our drinks order was taken and fulfilled promptly with the food order following shortly afterwards. The burgers and omelette were apparently very good, although the deep fried... More

We ate here recently as we wanted a simple piece of grilled fish after having had a lot of dishes with the type of rich sauces that often accompany French food. Ordered a sea bass grilled simply with fennel. We were not explained how much the fish weighed or given a price but it's a common fish and I've never... More

The place was recomended by the taxi driver and we were not disapointed. This exactly waht you can expect from the big fish restraunt in the best place in town - in the center of the promenade. Perfect & quick service, my siole grilled was one of the best , I ever eat, the same about veal turnedo of my... More

We went to the Brasserie La Toche yesterday evening, and straight away it was not what it promised to be: we had gone in earlier in the day to reserve, but when we got there they had to cobble two tables together for the four of us, as they had not reserved a table at all. There was no 'plat... More

Some of the reviews here do not match our experience - so you must judge for yourselves of course. There was nothing wrong with the meal we had here. Professional service, but no more. Comfortable seating, but no more. The food was good of its type - langoustines lovely, fresh and well cooked - but so they ought to be.... More

It's well situated and boasts a good ambiance - you do go there to be seen, and the mega yachts spill their contingents straight on to the Auberge's terrace! It's of course not cheap, but there is some capable cooking that gives it the three stars. The fish soup is sensational, perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavour from the rock... More
