We took visitors to Le Troubadour on Wednesday (without a reservation) and fortunately for us managed to secure a table. We all agreed the meal was stunning, the service excellent and we even had the chef come to our table to explain some of the unusual dishes to us in English. As a result of his help two of our... We were a party of 7, and booked at short notice on a Saturday evening. The food was excellent and the service was very amiable, despite the fact it look us a while to decide what we wanted to eat out of the huge choice. The very conscientious chef brought out replacement lamb chops without prompting after one of our... More

We had a stunning meal at Le Troubadour last Friday evening. The Escalopes of Foie Gras in fig and strawberry sauce was a knockout. De pot de fue au mer was one of the finest meals the missus has ever eaten. We want the recipe! My own Scallop dish with rice and a rich sauce was pretty good as well.... More

As you would expect in France, everything was perfect and so reasonably priced, especially seeing as we had foie gras and steak, a bottle wine each, a coffee, liquer and dessert. The staff were very attentive, and the other diners were friendly which helped as the tables are very close together as inside it is quite small. I will definitely... More

Our family of four very much enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the atmosphere great. We also enjoyed the wine. For anyone visiting Saint Quentin I would recommend this traditional French Restaurant. Our children who have mature tastes and behaviour were treated well, although I am not sure if they are... Saint-Quintin just a stopover for us and a bit of a depressing trip back up North but this excellent meal cheered us up! Lots of nice touches and everything quality.

We can see how Le Troubador gets the accolade of No1 in St Quentin, but we also ate elsewhere and we can see there isn't much competition! The food was well-cooked and well-presented, from a decent menu and the decor was fine, but the whole meal didn't provide that extra bit of je-ne-c'est-quoi that would have fully justified their prices... Limited choice of menu but all freshly cooked with daily specials. Recommended by our hotel as a typical French restaurant. The food was delicious. The wines were reasonable but the service could have been sharper. The staff were very nice and the restaurant was obviously full of local clientele.

After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor we decided to dine here after an exhausting day. It was a bit of a trek from our hotel but well worth the effort. Our lack of French was no impediment as Fabian was generous and exhuberant in his attention and explained the menu in English. Food was enjoyable and it was entertaining... More

Slightly off the beaten track, but only 2 mins from main square. Worth seeking out. Interesting menu that catered for all, but included some local touches. Attentive, welcoming patron and waiters. Highly recommended.
