Really Lovely restaurant

Lovely restaurant and good people and service. Food is great. St Quentin is a great place to stop over when travelling through France. Beware of a restaurant called Le Cocteau which is racist and has rude and arrogant French management and lousy food.

We choose Le Troubadour based on its strong TA reviews, but I have to say we were more than disappointed. It wasn’t a disaster, but we expected much more. The location is good, towards the top of the town centre across the square from the impressive court building. Welcome was a little cold, is it really too much for waitress... More

Stopped in St-Quentin for an overnighter on way back from ski-trip and we were recommended this restaurant. We ordered four different meals and there was much passing of forks across the table as we all tasted each other's. Superb French food, well presented in a relaxed atmosphere. I felt a bit underdressed in jeans and a jumper but no one... More

Welll, it's hard to think of something fresh to say about a top restaurant with already so many super reviews...but, hey! You walk in here and you know it's something special. The atmosphere begs you to differ. You cannot. My wife started with the cassoulet of mussels and scallops, (noix de St. Jacques), what a treat, and the sauce! I... More

We liked La Troubador. It's reliant on its local clientele - we were the only non French in a fullish restaurant - who clearly enjoyed today's October 15th) lunch. Having eaten too well previously, we didn't feel we could do justice to the very good value lunch menu, so ate a la carte - a duck breast with a delicious... More

Thanks Tripadvisor reviewers, for suggesting this restaurant. All aspects are excellent, especially the food and service. Made a great end to our annual French holiday, and will ensure that we stop over in St Quentin to experience Le Troubadour again. It is easy to find on foot from the Basilica. Front of house and the chef make a huge effort... More

We took visitors to Le Troubadour on Wednesday (without a reservation) and fortunately for us managed to secure a table. We all agreed the meal was stunning, the service excellent and we even had the chef come to our table to explain some of the unusual dishes to us in English. As a result of his help two of our... We were a party of 7, and booked at short notice on a Saturday evening. The food was excellent and the service was very amiable, despite the fact it look us a while to decide what we wanted to eat out of the huge choice. The very conscientious chef brought out replacement lamb chops without prompting after one of our... More

We had a stunning meal at Le Troubadour last Friday evening. The Escalopes of Foie Gras in fig and strawberry sauce was a knockout. De pot de fue au mer was one of the finest meals the missus has ever eaten. We want the recipe! My own Scallop dish with rice and a rich sauce was pretty good as well.... More
