We had a superb family meal here on our last night of our stay in France . We had 2 different set menus - the host adapting the offer to vegetarian for me. An excellent Pinot noir was recommended to match our meals from The extensive wine list; great value at 20 euros. The children's menu s were generous portions,... More

We always make a point of stopping here for lunch before getting the Eurotunnel home. We had booked a table for 1pm and by 1.30pm the restaurant was quite full. We both had the rabbit terrain as a starter which was superb, and the 2 specials of the day, which was either 2 types of white fish cooked in a... More

This is a very small restaurant and the food is all fresh. I had been worried about us catching shuttle home as we were late arriving . The "front of house" was superb when we told him, and suggested we had the quick menu of the day. Fantastic rabbit terrine or traditional French soup followed by very fresh and well... More

I Actually ate here twice on a recent trip to France; once on the way over and again on the return journey, the second time only because I knew the restaurant, every where else was busy and Calais was in the grip of Stag and Hen night fever with groups of drunken folk wandering around in the obligatory costumes whistles... Disclaimer: I always review restaurants on a strict price/performance basis i.e. the star rating reflects overall impressions against cost in that particular establishment. A four star rating here is not necessarily the same as a four star rating in, say, the Savoy Grill. Du Vignoble Au Verre continues to bump along with adequate food (although the menu would benefit from... More

Perhaps the restaurant was having a bad day but it is hard to reconcile the good reviews on the site to our experience on a Saturday lunchtime visit in March. The food disappointing and the service grudging. My fish soup may have been home made but I've had better in a jar and my pork rib main course was lacking... More

I visit this restaurant frequently. With it only being an hour and a half from London we often do a night just to eat in this restaurant. That said, I will not be returning. Before the menu was varied, we often take the most expensive menu at 33 Euros a head. The owner has a real passion for wine and... More

We visited for the first time today as part of a wine run to France. The promise of home cooking lured us in. We dined on the 14.40 Euro menu. A fabulous smoked halibut quiche with delicious thin but crusty pastry was the starter of the day. We both had the main course of the day - Veal stew served... More

Had lunch here on a Sunday before heading back to the Channel Tunnel. We were met by the very friendly Eric, who suggested the daily specials which were salmon tartare as a starter, and beef bourguignon (for the men he said!!) and plaice in a butter sauce with fresh vegetables - for the ladies I assume. He must have been... More
