Disclaimer: I always review restaurants on a strict price/performance basis i.e. the star rating reflects overall impressions against cost in that particular establishment. A four star rating here is not necessarily the same as a four star rating in, say, the Savoy Grill. Du Vignoble Au Verre continues to bump along with adequate food (although the menu would benefit from... More

Perhaps the restaurant was having a bad day but it is hard to reconcile the good reviews on the site to our experience on a Saturday lunchtime visit in March. The food disappointing and the service grudging. My fish soup may have been home made but I've had better in a jar and my pork rib main course was lacking... More

I visit this restaurant frequently. With it only being an hour and a half from London we often do a night just to eat in this restaurant. That said, I will not be returning. Before the menu was varied, we often take the most expensive menu at 33 Euros a head. The owner has a real passion for wine and... More

We visited for the first time today as part of a wine run to France. The promise of home cooking lured us in. We dined on the 14.40 Euro menu. A fabulous smoked halibut quiche with delicious thin but crusty pastry was the starter of the day. We both had the main course of the day - Veal stew served... More

Had lunch here on a Sunday before heading back to the Channel Tunnel. We were met by the very friendly Eric, who suggested the daily specials which were salmon tartare as a starter, and beef bourguignon (for the men he said!!) and plaice in a butter sauce with fresh vegetables - for the ladies I assume. He must have been... More

One of the most difficult reviews I’ve written. Having driven into Calais on the Saturday evening when the Christmas lights had been switched on (they’re really great by the way) we found restaurants were very busy. The Vignoble au Verre was also very full but the patron found us a table after a 15 minute wait – very good we... More

My wife and I went there to celebrate our Valentine. I must say that everything was just perfect: the starters, the foie, the main dishes (I had the rump steak), the wine list, I really can't complain. The owner/host/waiter/sommelier is also very kind and helpful.

We fetched up at this restaurant on a recent Sunday lunchtime and had only ninety minutes free time before catching a ferry home but wanted to have lunch before we left. The restaurant made every effort, successfully, to accommodate us and we were finished in good time for the ship. More importantly the food was delicious as attested to by... More

Conveniently situated near the seafront & town centre on a modern square, with parking adjacent (and visible from the restaurant, for those worried about their boot full of wine). Lovely traditional bistro/restaurant with excellent value menus at a range of prices (14 Euros up for 2 courses, to around 32 for high end 3 courses inc foie gras if you... More
