Living on its Past Glories

Maybe ok for lunch but overpriced for dinner. Three course meal with an air-filled, over cooked omelette for the main course and a modest local wine was over 150 Euros.

We really wanted to try the famous omelette from the place that started it all. Located right at the entrance there is quite a show that is put on as you enter. The waiter was friendly and inviting. We decided to share a salmon and potato omelette and it was perfect. We found it expensive but worth the experience.

I saw La Mere Poulard reviewed on a TV travel show, so when my friend and I went to Mont-St-Michel we decided to check it out. The entrance is extremely interesting as one is able to watch several food preparers in action and get some great photos. Unless you are swimming in cash, I'd suggest that you do enjoy the... More

Omelet is soft and very large, somewhere between a souffle and an omelet. Yes its expensive, its a tourist area.

This restaurant is so famous for its omelette a but they are so huge , I passed! The menu is varied and delicious, and we loved it. We stayed at the hotel upstairs so it was terrific to be able to have a fabulous restaurant as well. Upstairs is best, less touristy and more elegant.

The restaurant is an icon and known for its yummy, yet pricey, omelets. A reservation is required! We tried to get in without one late in the evening and were told they were no openings until the next day. Fortunately we were staying on the island so we went for lunch. Had the famous omelet with potatoes and bacon. I... More

It had been 45 years since we visited La Mere Poulard and Mont St. Michel in Normandy. The last time we visited, we stayed in the hotel since the tide had rolled in and cut the causeway from the island to the mainland. We were not disappointed in our overnight stay and enjoyed both dinner and breakfast before leaving. I... More

It might be best to go to Mont St. Michel after you've spent a few days in Paris so you can really appreciate the excellent service at this truly lovely restaurant. They were able to accommodate our group of 6 at two tables -- which was completely fine! Our kids were a bit shocked by the sticker price on the... More

Extremt bad treatment of costomers. Waited over ½ hour to be told that the restaurant was full. Sandwichbar at the other side of street a true tourist trap. Really bad food.

Yep, it's a bit expensive but you're paying for food, eating in a world renounced location and being on the magical Mont. So wrapped up all together it's OK if you can afford the high end / high priced omelettes - much like drinking a Bellini at Harry's, or Club 21 or at the Ritz - you know ahead of... More
