First ever really disappointing food experience (in France of all places), a first bad review for me.

I was about to walk away when the waiter directed us to our table, no smile and like a grumpy school teacher. But we didn't, the place looked OK, and hey, we are here for some simple food. No high expectations at all so what can go wrong?.....no smiles, no taste. I'm going to leave it at that, when... read more

I admit I fell for the hype. Being a lover of a good french omelette, and having always read how La Mere Poulard drew people from all over the world for decades with her homemade recipe, I jumped in. Then I saw the prices on the menu. And I took a deep breath and persisted. What arrived at the table... More

We had lunch and ordered the famous mere poulard's omelet with smoked salmon. It was good. Incredibly expensive for an omelet. Service was not great, somewhat snooty. Because it was a late lunch, only two tables had people eating. Yet, there were six servers. You would think six servers for two tables would result in great service. On the contrary,... More

What a huge disappointment! We had heard about the omelettes here and wanted to give them a try. We couldn't believe the price for what you got -- nearly $50 for bland eggs and potatoes on the side. We had to pay 9 Euros each for two bottles of water. The service was equally terrible, with little attention. My husband... More

My wife and I went to this restaurant while touring Mont St Michel. The restaurant was recommended by a tourist guide. It was located near the entrance to the old town. The famous omelettes were huge! My wife each had one and they were rather tasty. However, the price was a bit high for what you got.

This is one of the best-known (historic) restaurants in the area and rather spendy (as is everything on Mont St. Michel. For lunch, three omelets, two glasses of wine and two desserts cost $219 U.S. The specialty is a huge omelet (half-cooked). The wine is good, but the service so-so. The restaurant takes reservation via the Internet the day before... More

You just need to try it...it is a MUST STOP. We loved everything about our éxperience. you MUST eat one of the famous omelettes: the wild mushrooms and lobster one was to die for...with a Pouilly Fume to boot.

In my opinion this place tries to play the first class but is stucked in the average. To be honest, it´s a nice restaurant with average staff and average food. All the trip guides tell you about the speaciality - pancakes and how wonderful they are. In my opinion the staff is below the average (some of them don´t speak... More

The food at La Mere Poulard was very good. I had the local Agneau de pré-salé (pre-salted lamb) as part of a set meal. It melted in my mouth. However, the service was a bit brusque and slow. My friends had hoped to share a set meal as they had done the last time at the "Mont" but the restaurant... More

It is interesting to see how the famous omelet is made. The restaurant is not quite as busy at dinner time. The price is expensive for the average food that they served. The meal is not unforgivable except the famous omelet. I should have just gone there for the omelet. There are few good sea food restaurants within the city... More
