Pretentious, overpriced, outdated decor... horrible service

We stayed at the hotel attached to the restaurant for 2 nights so eating here was part of the whole experience. Yes, it is pricey but it's also a part of history so having one of these amazing omelettes was worth it for us. The service was excellent and the interior is very nice. This was an overall great dining... More

La Mére Poulard is an institution, located in a very tourist-rich environment. Of course, this means it will be expensive. Some of the other reviews seem to ignore this fact. Also, as an institution in a tourist-rich environment with people from all over the world, the reviews will vary widely. All I can say is that I enjoyed my meal, though... More

We absolutely wanted to taste the famous omelet, which is still made the way Mère Poulard used to make them for the pilgrims visiting the abbey on Mont St Michel. We knew in advance that this would be an expensive lunch, so this choice was up to us to make, so the review is just about the quality of the... More

Family of four - we did not have dinner reservations, however we were seated promptly. Table service was good, efficient enough - value for money was not!!! As with previous reviews, 'Yes', I understand the history and I understand exactly were I'm eating - I also understand value for money and this was not! We tried the omelettes (vegetarian, salmon,... Famous Omelet coupled with local wine recommended by our server. The Omelet is huge and uniquely made. The weather was raining and cool so this was perfect. Beautiful decor

We went to this restaurant because I really wanted the experience. Well, I had the Fish Soup, and it was just a broth and quite a bore. My husband got the Omelette, which we agreed to share. It was not very filling or satisfying. This is a very expensive restaurant for what you get. Went back to our room and... More

I waited for nearly an hour to eat at this famous place. The food was excellent and the service was good as well. But it was very expensive for a lunch. This is not a place I would go everyday - it was a special treat, so I paid the price. It was worth it all in all. A unique... More

This was the worst restaurant I have ever eaten in. I do not even know how they could serve the food that they did. I have brown fish water (soup) for a starter and it was honestly horrible. My companion couldn't even eat her food due to the vile smell. My main course was meant to be a club sandwich.... More
