After the abbaye closed at 19:00 we looked at the incoming tide (approx. 4:30 after lowest tide point the water reaches le Mont St-Michel) then looked for a place to eat. From the remparts you can access the Cheval Blanc. I was expecting a touristic rip-off and lowered my expectations accordingly. And it was a generic experience. Fries were average,... More

We enjoyed our food. The mussels in cream sauce were very delicious as was the bread; I didn't eat the snails, but others in group said they were very tasty (personally I felt they looked like what I see in a fishtank or lake). The array of specialized utensils was interesting. A number of us enjoyed the steak and fries... More

We had lunch at the Restaurant de l'hotel Croix Blanche the other day, and thought that the food was great. The mussels were a bit bland, but the lamb dish and the chips were amazing. Service was attentive and friendly.

Starting with the totally understaffed dining room (only one waitress for the whole dining room!), this meal was awful. I don't blame the waitress. She was put in an untenable position and she did her best. But with about 10 tables to manage, with most people coming in at about the same time, she couldn't do much. We ordered the... More

Everything on the island is expensive but the meals here are of good value. The service was friendly and efficient even with large tour groups present. The meals are tasty, good portions and well presented. Set course menus are well varied, the 23 euro menu was very good value and tasty. Compared to other places on Mont Saint Michel, recommended.... There is an army of underemployed waiting staff hovering like vultures. The food was bad - one bowl of cold mussels half of which were dead with a bit of cream on top and three seafood pastas where the spaghettit had been reheated by pouring boiling water over some ready cooked which made it completely tasteless, all served in record... Great food, not too pricy compared to some of the other restaurants. Get a table with a view, worth booking.

Crudités, mussels in cream sauce with chips, cod au gratin Breton style, Normandy tart and butter & sugar crepe... It was mostly very good, but the presentation on the crepe was absolutely lacklustre and its taste was mediocre The service was efficient and friendly. The view of the tidal flats was outstanding. We didn't find it to be too expensive.... More
