Just had a meal in this restaurant and horrified at attitude of staff!! Unfortunately the very smiley lady owner was unable to understand English so the young ignorant waitress got away with it. She was rude fro Moment we sat at table and ordered a bottle of wine to which seemed to be an issue!! My mother enquiried as to... More

A funny old place. Mainly because this is place is centered around the French love for Welsh Rarebit, it is some kind of famed delicacy around these parts - no lie they have about 4 menu items with flambeed cheese on toast. Price wise, this is kinda average/expensive - 9 euros for a burger etc. If their business model is... More

Neither a pub nor indeed one run by the Welsh this Brasserie style restaurant in the centre of town is a good place to get a formularised meal if you are hungry and not too fussy about what you eat The word Welsh in this part of France refers to a dish of of melted cheese with the addition of... What a pity when the attitutude of front of house staff do not match the quality of those delivering in the kitchen. This is a very popular restaurant with the locals (packed on a Monday evening is a good sign). It isn't a pub. Yes, it sells the local version of the Welsh Rarebit delicacy with a heavy emphasis on... More

A day trip to Boulogne on our own boat from Dover into the marina. Lovely crossing, with the sole purpose of lunch at Le Welsh Pub. First thing to say, is that you do not take a boat over the Channel to a restaurant if you do not think it is worth the trip! Le Welsh Pub has always been... More

Fresh off the ferry we needed a bite to eat. There were several restaurants in the square but decided although this was the most expensive we wanted quality. Food was great and we enjoyed it very much. The service seemed a little rushed as we were an inconvenience which disappointed me slightly. The food and company certainly out weighed any... More

What a surprise! Here we were in Bolougne on the way back to the ferry when I looked in my guidebook to discover this place which supposedly had welsh rarebit on the menu. After two weeks of sun, this final day was rainy and we sat in this lovely place for a couple of hours talking in our bad French... More

As previously noted, Welsh it's not and neither is it a pub. Obviously a place to go for a drink, which is what we had intended but we liked the look of the food passing by and, not wishing to scour the town for somewhere else, we decided to give it a try. We weren't disappointed. Four of us ate... More
