Been here a few times

I have been here a few times on visits to Boulogne. It is in the old town part and in a very beautiful area. There are lots of other restaurants in the area too, all competing for your attention. I found the food here was really nice. I had mussels which I found nice but not very tasty. reading... read more

It was a Sunday night in early February. Cold and windy. In Le Parisien we found warmth, welcome, and good food. Nothing outstanding although the oysters were delicious, but no cooking involved there! Absolutely nothing to complain about.

The food was good. We ordered see food plate which was good enough and for comfortable price. The was good also. So this is not the best place in the city, but the offer good value for money

There are lots of restaurants on rue de Lille in the old town of Boulogne-sur-Mer. We ate here twice during our brief visit. It is the end of the season and fairly quiet but most of the restaurants were open, La Belle Epoque rivaled them all on price but offered more variety. It proved to be a good choice as... More

We have eaten here in previous visits to Boulgone, so were happy to try it again Being a warm evening we were able to sit outside, just allow for the table not being level as the restaurant is (as most of the places in the old town are) on a hill We found the service quick and friendly, the food... We didn't completely eat a single dish of the 3 course menu. My girlfriend's lemon sole was still bloody (seriously), my fish soup was watery, the chips were horrible, and even the crème caramel was inedible. The coffee was alright though.

Not convinced that we had a bowl full of fresh mussels. Many of the shells were empty, which happens, but I'd expect to find them all in the juice at the bottom of the pan. Unfortunately, they were elusive. Service was okay, but there are plenty of other places to spend your money in. Would not recommend or return.

We were recently in Boulogne an the restaurant we usually eat in, the Swan, was full. We had previously eaten in Le Parisien and were very disappointed. however, we decided to give it another chance and were very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant has been redecorated, the owner and waitress were both friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, the wine... More

There are many restaurants along this street offering moules, couldn't try them all but this one was well patronised by French people so thought we'd give it a go. Couldn't fault them. Perfectly cooked, sweet and succulent. Not a bad one to be seen and a very plentiful pot of them. Really enjoyable.

Having been to Boulogne-sur-Mer a few times and always eaten in The Swan we decided to change and we're not disappointed, we had champagne to start with and 2 of the 3 course set meals which were great value, my streak with Roquefort sauce was really good and the house wine was very pleasant and including coffees and a tip...
