Really lovely lunch. Great little restaurant on a very pretty side street. We ate off of the 20 Euro menu and the starter and main were so large (both had mussels, husband had the most enormous pork sausage with potato, mushroom and onion in red wine and I had chicken basque with dauphinois potatoes) we couldn't manage one of the... Three of us ate here because the variety of menu's appealed to us all. There were numerous set menus to chose from, ranging from 16 Euros up to 38 Euros for 3 courses. You could also order from a general menu as well. One of the party is a vegetarian and this restaurant had a full set menu with a... More

We had just travelled up from our 7 day holiday in Dordogne and wanted somewhere nice to have dinner on our final night in France. We came upon this restaurant by chance, and I am so glad we did! The menu is very varied with a wide range of classic french food. It also caters for a variety of budgets,... More

A typical honest basic french restaurant. Paper tablecloths. Local clientele. Good atmosphere. 15€ menu very filling. Food recommended and would return, but felt wine was expensive. Efficient service. Not for romantics. I loved the modules starter.

This is a lovely, typically French restaurant. It is not pretentious, the food and service are excellent, and the portions are very generous. We ate here twice during our few days in Boulogne and it was very good on both occasions. The set menus are excellent value for money. The chips were some of the most delicious I have ever... More

Dropped in for lunch whilst in the old walled city of Boulogne. We had the €15 menu of the day. Good choice of food, well prepared and excellent value. 3 courses beer and coffee and change from €40 for both of us.

Arrived in Boulogne at about 20:30 so needed to find a restaurant with a broad menu. La Pierre Chaude fitted the bill - typically French meal and restaurant - was quite full with a big party of local french people, always a recommendation. Really good value for money as well - friendly efficient service.

Its difficult to choose in old Boulogne as all the restaurants look similarly enticing. If you want post do l'ilot vert which I have also rated. But if you want just great home cooking go here. There isn't much we hasn't had in France but my husband tried a Boulogne Sausage, which was a new one on us. It was... More

I can't describe in enough detail just how bad this meal was. From the French onion soup that tasted canned to the fish that had no flavour to the patates 'dauphinois' that was a mash of cream and old potatoes - nothing was worthy of my time. Don't go here even if everything else is booked up.
