Excellent food, good service and reasonable prices.

Excellent food, but turn up earlier or reserve a table. Good variety, excellent cognac! We'll be going back!

We dined on a damp Monday night when not many people were out and about and many restaurants were shut. Those that were open looked either too formal for us or too empty and the Pierre Chaude looked busy and welcoming. We ate a beautiful meal, enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine (the house rose, I think) and had a... More

Handy for the car parks and not too far to walk. Good honest french lunch at a good price. Would highly recommend.

We have been here a number of times. ( The fella in the checked shirt and glasses in the photo's peering at a menu is the owner we think) However, the food is fresh and traditional decently priced. My particular favourite is the scallops. This restaurant has a lot of competition on the Rue de Lille but in my opinion... More

On a day trip to France from Uk, and never really having visited Boulogne before, we decided to do just that. Parked up, for free, and wandered inside the old town walls, spotting this restaurant on our first circuit, we decided to give it a go for lunch. Excellent set menu at €15' which gave you a choice of starters,... More

Can be hard to find a nice restaurant in France where vegetarians get something good to eat! Pierre Chaud was a really nice surprise. We had dinner on a Saturday night, we didn't book, just walked in off the street. Friendly and helpful staff, nice ambience, simple not fancy, good vibe and some locals mixed with tourists which is always... More

We popped over for a pre-Christmas shop, no not just booze but the delightful foods on offer which are better served than here in the UK. To that end we booked into the Ibis, right outside the walled old town and wandered into the town for dinner. No idea why this restaurant took my fancy as there were spaces in... More

4 of us have just had lunch here. All chose from the 15 euros menu of the day. For starters two of us had mussels and two had tomato and feta cheese salad. The mussels were in a lovely mustard sauce and the salad very fresh. Main courses were two fish of the day and two beef bourguignon, all excellently... More

We have previously eaten at this restaurant a number of times over the years. In the summer and the winter and both during the lunch period and in the early evening. It is a real French experience. They are very welcoming. They do speak English but politely allow you to attempt to converse and order in French without embarrassment. The... More
