A lovely evening

A friend recommended this place after visiting in winter. On a warm June evening it was good to have the choice of eating in or outside. A little breeze sent us in! An extensive menu, both fixed price and al a carte. The 15 Euro menu was very good value. Being in Bouogne most of us went for fish... read more

We had a lovely meal with a large ice cream pudding and drinks for two at €50 including tip. The landlady was very attentive and helpful, the food excellent

So much choice in this area we decided to take pot luck and struck gold. We were given a warm welcome and the 24euro set menu was good value.we opted inter alia for escargot and oysters, excellent steak, veal and monkfish and cheese or crete brûlée. Wine was very palatable and reasonably priced. All in all a lucky choice and... More

Worked out I have been coming to this restaurant (obviously not under the same patron) for about 33 years! Good value as always. The evening was let down by the taxi's triple and double charging us, and my French is still not quite good enough to argue the toss.

Popped in here for lunch while in Boulogne for the day. We had the €18.90 three-course menu, and very nice it was too. Starters were onion soup and stuffed mushrooms – both very good. Mains were steak frites and a duo of fish (salmon and cod fillet in some lovely sauce) served with chips and a little medley of vegetables.... More

The waitress seemed pleased to welcome us and service of the aperitif and first course was fast, but after that it felt as though we had been forgotten about. The food was average for France.

I honestly cannot understand why people have left bad reviews about this restaurant... Went to Boulogne today as a last tap on my recent trip to France. Walked around the town centre and took a peek at the menus that were on display for all the restaurants. Eventually decided to sit at Le Swan. I must say that we were... More

We had the 15€ menu and enjoyed every mouthful! Washed down with a beer and red wine and all served by a very friendly waitress who despite our poor French was chatty and patient with us. There are a number of restaurants in the vicinity with similar menus but we were very satisfied with the ambiance, the food and the... More

Found this place quite by chance. We were staying in Boulogne-sur-Mer overnight on a just out of season monday in June before heading for the ferry back to Blighty the next day and needed somewhere to eat as our hotel restaurant wasn't open. As many restaurants were shut we decided to go in the next place that looked ok, and... More

Absolutely disgusting food with a moody waitress. We had a family gathering in the north of France and we were not welcomed. Food: the onion soup was tasteless without enough onions and cheese (we are French and this is a classical dish you cannot miss). Frozen fries, over cooked pasta. Everything was not really fresh, ready made food. What a... More
