When we leave a restaurant thinking about the dining experience - food, service, etc - rather than the bill, we're happy, no matter what the bill was. While the Restaurant Carnot is on the higher end of the "bill scale", the food and service and overall experience were, for us at least, were well worth it. Located across from the... More

We ate an evening meal here both nights during our stay in Arras. First night we had the special menu for €37 including a glass of white wine with our starter and red with our main. The menu also included an amuse bouche, pudding and coffee and was excellent. The waiter was helpful in explaining the dishes in his limited... More

Situated near The Holiday Inn, this establishment was very busy so we thought we would try it out. There is no English menu, but the staff did their best to help us out. My wife and I had steaks which were fantastic. The service was swift. The only problem was that the wine was so expensive!!! Worth a visit

Traffic wasn't good on the M25 in the UK, not helped by the fact that it was Friday afternoon and a terrible wind was blowing. A journey that normally took around one hour twenty ended up at three before we reached the tunnel. Glad of our flexiplus ticket arrangement we boarded immediately however with the travel time and hour change... More

Bistro style family restaurant, friendly reception and service, frequented by local people and serving regional food in modern surroundings. Good menu @ €35 including a white wine with the starter and red with main. We had a lovely foie, followed by steak with a delicate sauce, washed down with decent Bordeaux. Sweets were good and nicely presented, giving good value... More

On entry found we were only customers, so very subdued, but later as others arrived, atmosphere improved consideably. Nice table, very friendly and helpful waiter, who between our limited french and his limited english, we were able to place our order from a very wide menu, no english menu available. Food very good and well presented, hot and tasty. Extensive... More

Nice setting in a modernly furnished room. Attentive staff and a decent wine list it could have been a great night but the food lacked consistency. The first course of duck ravioli in a superb broth topped with a chunk of fresh foire gras was sublime. Main courses were disappointing by contrast. All were very prettily plated but lacked the... The service was good, the food was fine, annoying that they wouldn't serve dinner until 7pm but the nibbles with the aperitif helped.

The restaurant efficiently dealt with the large party we were in and served good food in comfortable surroundings. Found it quicker to walk downstairs and order drinks from the bar instead of the suggested waiter service, as they were far to busy. Good range of beers!

We were recommended to try The Carnot while staying at a near-by Hotel. We are glad we tried it. The staff were polite and friendly. While being English speakers, ordering from a French menu is always an experience in itself, we were very happy with the food that we received. Delivered in good time and very tasty.
