Very good food, service and atmosphere

We took some friends here of lunch and all of us enjoyed the meal. One had the veal dish, one had a small steak and the children had hamburgers with fries. I tried their shepherds' pie and one should leave that dish for England. My wife had chicken caesar salad and she loved it. We all agreed... read more

We ate dinner here while staying in Arras for 3 days. We were the only tourists in the restaurant - everyone else was local which tells you the food must be good. Varied value for money menu which thankfully was also translated into English!. Loads of choice and the service was very good even though the restaurant was full. Unfortunately... More

Enjoyed a great evening meal in mid June with work colleagues. We opted to sit outside to enjoy a warm evening and the waiter was excellent, running through the menu for one of our group who doesn't eat gluten and making suggestions for them. Our food was excellent and was very good value when it came to paying the bill... More

Visited this restaurant with four friends and we all agreed we had good food, excellent wine, that was reasonably priced. There appeared to be many local people eating there which we all felt was a good sign. One guy seemed to be the only waiter, but the service was not only good, it was friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend... More

This small (ground floor and basement) restaurant was warm and welcoming on a very rainy night. The choice of food is typical of North-East France and Flanders. Very good local food. Good choice of beers. Very reasonable prices.

A couple of times a year, we meet our friends who have a house in Calais and have an escorted weekend by two lovely people who know the local area, attractions and good restaurants and it was suggested that we take a day out in Arras. As usual, we were very pleasantly surprised and especially by our visit to La... More

We received a recommendation to go to this restaurant from our B&B owner and what a great place this turned out to be. For a reasonable price we ate an excellent dinner - a kind of sea food soup with leeks as a starter, a rump steak and a fish plate with creamy vegetables as main dishes and artisanal ice... More

The Petit Rat Porteur is located between the two historic squares in the centre of Arras and is close to plenty of public parking. The restaurant is small but nicely decorated and comfortable with a good atmosphere. The service is friendly and professional and the food is really good. I tried one of the traditional regional dishes, Waterzooi, which turned... More

I visited Le Petit Rat Porteur with some friends of mine who live in a nearby village. They work in Arras and mentioned that they like to come to this restaurant for lunch. I let my friends do the ordering and enjoyed every plate that came to the table. The food at Le Petit Rat is right up my alley... More

A popular restaurant with friendly, efficient service. Unfortunately, the food proved slightly disappointing. My husband ordered the cassoulet but had to send it back since, below the surface, it was stone-cold. The staff rectified this quickly but the fact that it happened at all has cost Le Petit Rat its fourth star. I should add that I had the Flemish... More
