Good food, good wine

Really enjoyed the dinner. The menu was fairly varied. Unusual location in an underground cavern. Service was good.

The lady in charge was brusque but not rude, just business like. We certainly enjoyed the food and the wine. The atmosphere is good being set in what was an underground stable, with vaulted brick ceiling. The lamb main course was delicious with perfectly cooked veg. Do visit.

We were skeptical about going to the restaurant especially given some of the reviews about the host. However, our friends booked the restaurant and we decided to give it a try. Luckily, I guess, the hostess was off this night and we had an terrific meal with great food, great service and a great time. The locals were very nice... More

Amazing location.....Amazing food.... however the owner (Sandrine) of the Faisanderie doesn't seem to enjoy her job!! No manners, abrupt, no sense of humour, basically she has no time for you. On the other hand you will get a smile when the bill has been paid. Apart from our very sad Sandrine, the other staffs were very lovely and apparently Sandrine's... More

I visited this evening with friends whilst staying in Arras. The restaurant is situated in the beautiful town square. It is a beautiful building with the dining area in a vaulted basement and the food was divine. The whole experience would have been amazing had it not been for the exceptionally abrupt and unfriendly lady manager who seemed unable to... More

Well appointed restaurant in a cave on The Grand Place in Arras. The food is beyond description. The oysters were fresh and plentiful, the cod and fresh local produce prepared with a delicate hand. Wine pairings were lovely and the service sublime.

Menu meals offer limited choice but high quality. Big disappointment from the service. Unpolite and at times even not professional service (very hot dished put on the table in front of a two years old child with no warning or attention). The overall atmosphere is spoiling good food and the stay.

We booked this restaurant via email and received a confirmation back from them. However on arriving at the establishment we were told that the restaurant was fully booked and they would not honour our reservation. No apology was offered. I have replied to their email confirmation, asking them if they would care to apologise. We have not received any reply.... More

We dined here yesterday for the second time, and for the second time, the food was superb. The oysters were beautifully fresh, and the turbot was wonderful. Both times we've been, though, the ambience has been a bit dour.....while the service is efficient and polite, it's not exactly "service with a smile". It's a shame because they go to such... More

My husband and I dined at La Faisanderie after an emotional day visiting War Graves and we could not have been more impressed on any front. The service was delightful and the food faultless. We both had three courses and enjoyed everything and would certainly go back.Don't be put off by going into a basement, it has a great atmosphere.
