One of the things that impresses me in this restaurant is that the numerous details are put together in such a way that they form an attractive, fascinating and often surprising whole. There are harmony and contrasts in colors, flavours and textures, in older and modern cooking techniques, in food and wines, in the creations in the plates and on... More

With a couple of friends we went to this restaurant: it was really the best dinner we had for a long time: we tried the menu passion with a lot of different tapas and the chef surprised us every time even more. Beautiful combinations and presentations. We were well advised by the hostess for the wines that combined really well... More

We have been here a number of times. However, although the service is impeccable and the food beautifully cooked this is a perfect example of where "less is more". The food is very tasty, but often there is one to many flavours, masking the quality of the cooking. Even the use of some ingredients is overdone, overpowering more subtlety of... More

Do not be put off by the rather unprepossessing address and outside, this is an excellent restaurant with inventive food and good service. We've been there twice, once we sat inside (and admired the paintings, the chef is also an artist), and this time we sat outside which was peaceful and relaxing. The owner's wife is maître d' and is... More

Location is not the most enticing; but very central. In some ways the contrast between the outside and interior adds to the overall experience. We dined on an expected rainy Saturday night (29 June) and enjoyed an excellent meal. Excellent service - excellent food. Clearly the best meal we had during our two week France holiday. Terrific value at €35... More

Having read the reviews we were looking forward to trying out this restaurant and yes the name describes it perfectly, great flavours beautifully presented. We were a little disappointed as there were no tables on the terrace even though we had booked, but as soon as a table was free we were moved on to the terrace. Starters and main... More

In total agreement with Reviewer who said "Inventive, imaginative cuisine, beautifully presented. An experience not to be missed . . " Not at all expensive for the quality on offer. Set menu at €35 was a bargain.

GOUTS et COULEURS, Rodez. We started with aperitifs at an outside table so that we could have a cigarette. These were served with a couple of crisps each. One was in the shape of a madaleine cake, chocolate in colour with a crisp shell and a softer centre. I’ve no idea at all what it was, but it tasted very... More

Inventive, imaginative cuisine, beautifully presented. An experience not to be missed and not too expensive. M. Fau is an artist: I'd love to teach him how to paint if he would teach me how to cook!

We were thrilled to get a same-day reservation in the evening at the Gout et Couleurs restaurant, the most renowned in Rodez. It's difficult to find a one star Michelin restaurant with a 35 euro evening menu. We have dined at many Michelin starred restaurants, and this restaurant certainly deserves it's star. The food is imaginative and the plates are... More
