Nice place, quality of food great but be careful what you order as they do not speak English and I had something that I still do not know what it was!

we arrived in Cautrets hassled and tired about 9:00pm on a rainy May evening. La Brasserie de bigorre welcomed us in and managed to understand our limited French and we enjoyed a lovely angus beef meal and salad. We will definitely visit this restaurant again

This place was quite busy, but reasonable service & ok or our group of 6 adults & 2 babies - quite child friendly. Some of the food was good, but a couple of our party were not so happy & left most of their mains. Personally I feel as they were too English to accept the French style cuisine. Personally... More

This restaurant was just a couple of doors from where we were staying and soon became a firm favourite. On the first night, we asked for a glass of red wine and a glass of rose and the patron came over and chose a couple of wines that would go with our meal. The service is friendly and efficient, the... More

Upon arriving as a party of four and ordering four main dishes, the waiter happily went and brought 2 400g steak, a trout, and stuffed peppers in less than 25 minutes. Everything was perfectly cooked and presented. Steaks came upon request, medium and rare, and were exquisite. The side of grilled vegetables and roasted potatoes were unlike any others. The... More

Hard to believe we went to the same place as all the good reviews. We chose to eat inside which was somewhat drab and without any ambience. The room was dominated by a huge TV, but at least the sound was turned down. Not a good start when we were told they had didn't have the wine we had chosen... More

Good food; friendly staff; attractive place. Close to order the beef for 2 people and took what we couldn't finish off home and ate it up one of the beautiful mountain views the next day.

Likes - really excellent dinner based on local ingredients (trout, local ham), a lot of thought had gone into the menu and it very tasty, very friendly service although the setting was a little bit basic. We visited after a day of walking in the mountains - hearty fare which was much appreciated. I would recommend it. Dislikes - it... More
