Description: A Traditional English Country Inn & Restaurant... The Vine Inn is nestled...
A Traditional English Country Inn & Restaurant... The Vine Inn is nestled in the heart of the beautiful Clent Hills. A warm welcome awaits for all those who wish to visit a traditional English country pub that offers high quality dining in a relaxed environment. Our first class menu has been selected to offer a discerning mixture of traditional pub favourites and to specialise in fresh fish and game - our fish dishes constantly change on our specials board while our game pie and organic venison steaks (done in a variety of ways) are popular trademark dishes. The Vine Inn was first registered as the "Clatterback Water Mill" and what was once the old mill pond is now the garden with a decking area built near to where the water wheel was housed. It was first used as an inn offering home brewed beer, bed and stabling in 1836.

Visited here on a recommendation. Asked at the bar for a table for 2. The young man got us some drinks, in which time we actually decided on what we'd like to eat as we'd come out having just fancied a quick steak. He took our order at the bar, no problem, and pointed us to a table in the... read more

After trying the fountain before we decided to give the vine a try. Very old and quaint, however does come with a musty old people's style. Place looks very tired. I'm all for authentic but not tatty. Drinks were really expensive. Almost £10 for a wine and a beer! Starter of pate was quite poor, two tiny burnt pieces of... More

I’m sorry the Vine Inn, Clent wasn’t to your taste. We take thoughtful pride in creating a traditional pub vibe throughout our restaurant which has been reupholstered in the last year and is decorated with interesting antiquities. We may not be modern but we are quaint, cosy and traditional and this is what the vast majority of our clientele appreciates.... More

We had a fantastic meal in a lovely country pub. The menu is creative and not the usual pub grub. The food was amazing and the service was excellent.

The starter - "mixed fish and prawn fishcake flavoured with coriander and chilli " did contain some little red flakes but tasted of absolutely no fishy elements whatsoever and was desperately stodgy;it was served on a mountain of salad leaves with no dressing offered. My guinea fowl main was better, but the bird itself was dry and somewhat tough. We... More

Haven't been to this pub for years. Nice friendly and helpful staff when we went in. Good fast service. Food was okay - just bland. I had the fishcakes with lime and chili. When it arrived they looked like two deep friend Scotch Eggs! Hard outer shell. Couldn't taste any lime or chili. Very dry as well! My wife had... More

My husband and myself went here last Saturday lunch ,ordered a coachman plougmans and normal plougmans and two drinks ,not cheap at £26 . We wait a little while and the meals came out and she informed us that there was no homemade scotch egg so we had half a pork pie extra . we told we young lady that... More

I'm very sorry you felt the need to post this review as not only much apology was immediately given at the time, but also the efforts that were made to rectify and compensate (a refund!) for the issues were refused by yourself. It is also unfair that you haven't mentioned this in your review. The salad was fresh that day... More

Nice to fill your belly after a nice brisk walk over Clent Hills... But that is about it. Those who eat here obviously eat here for convenience sake. Tasteless cheap but I've had worse.

So this is to go with a previous terrible review. They rang me up this morning to see how I was after my unfortunate mussels. They informed me that they had removed the entire batch of mussels, would be talking to their supplier, fortunately it seems I was the only person to have had a problem with them. Anyway, after... I went with 6 other middle aged guys for a midweek get together. It was a Wednesday and quite quiet, just as well as apperently they were a man down in the kitchen. It's a nice place, a countryfied homely atmosphere with pleasant attentive staff. Butty Bach on the pull is a bonus. I think all my colleagues chose the... More
