Arrived at noon in beautiful Villenuve-lez-Avignon. Took a chance on this cafe/restaurant because of its lovely outdoor location. We were not disappointed, in fact, we were pleasantly surprised at the excellent lunch. My starter was an eggplant, tomato and cheese pie - very tasty. My main course was a delicious lamb shank in a light tomato sauce with roast potatoes... More

Visited on an extremely windy day and sat outside. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. We all had the Prix fixe menu which was reasonably priced. The starters were very good but the steaks that we ordered were tough (one was so much so that my daughter could hardly find any of it which she could eat) The waiter... More

Friendly staff. Average food. One steak was tough and inedible. Aubergene better on our visits. But a good second choice on similar budget level.

Perfect setting in a small village square with good service and food. Had lunch here having walked down to the village following our visit to Carrieres de Lumieres and before we drove over the bridge and visited Avignon. The service was good and the blackboard menu is written in both French and English and there is a good selection of... More

I had a great dinner at La salamndre! There were four of us and I tried a lot of plates: tartare of salmon, tajina, brick, panna cotta...everything was amazing! I really suggest this restaurant if you pass in town

After a friendly welcome and a half decent starter, it was rapidly down-hill, if not racing slalom, from there - red mullet swamped in a mustardy concoction, and half a tough duck still connected to its skin avec chips ... come on! Unfortunately not that uncommon in France - we've been in country for five days and had one good... More

Really nice little restaurant well worth a visit. Good value menu with lovely choices. Rib eye steak was cooked to perfection. The waiter was friendly and knowledgable about the food and understood our French. Would go back again.

We visited this restaurant on the last evening of our holiday, it was a mistake we should have gone earlier in our holiday, that way we could have visited again before we left. We ate indoors as it was quite cold out. The interior is small and intimate, with a nice ambience. The attitude of the waiter was friendly and... More

This is an area we found late in our vacation. It's the other side of the river from Avignon and has lots of good restaurants at reasonable prices. It is much better than Avignon. Parking is an issue but if you park down in the public car park off Av Charles de Gaulle you can walk upto the old town... More

We had lunch in the alfresco area within the small village square. Delightful atmosphere, friendly and helpful service and our salads were out of the ordinary and delicious. Glasses of wine and beer were extremely good value. Highly recommended!
