An oasis for the traveller

One does not expect to find such quality in a beach resort. Only one quibble: No Mozart music as the name would suggest. Serious research has proven that quality restaurants will sell more desserts and after-dinner drinks if the guests are soothed with the magical music of Mozart. Very... read more

Very friendly service and strong guiding hand by the chef himself. He... More

We have eaten at the Amadeus once or twice a year for the past ten years as a treat to ourselves. It's slightly pricier than other local restaurants, but the food has always been good, the staff knowledgable, and the service excellent. This year we were very disappointed. Little touches like the amuse-bouches were missing. We had to request bread... More

This restaurant is recommended in the Michelin Guide so if you want something special it's a good place to try. We've been here a few times over the last few years. The food is always excellent and the owner is a great guy who always makes you feel welcome. The set menus have always been EUR 30 to 40 ish,... More

My husband and I ate here at lunchtime on a warm sunny Saturday in July. The town was heaving with holidaymakers and this is probably the best restaurant in Argeles. It was very quiet at lunchtime, with only two tables. We started with the vegetarian assiette which we shared, a good thing because we then had the Catalan lamb dish... More

We were recommended this restaurant by my girlfriends parents, checked on TripAdvisor and were put off a bit with some of the reviews, but went anyway. There were 4 of us and everyone had a great time. There were various set menus as well as the a-la-carte. The food was great (rare fillet steak was gorgeous) and despite some of... More

The food here was really nice, beautifully presented but the staff could try harder. I visited with my husband and 3 kids (who thankfully behaved themselves in this fancy restaurant.) The staff served the food but did not interact with us whatsoever and our attempts to speak French were shot down by English answers. Unfortunately the poor service is what... More

Not having been for 7 years tried again for our Wed Ann. Same old story. Good food. Ambiance nul. Service nul. Slow. Bake their own bread? Stick to what you're good at! Suspect the chef keeps all staff under control in kitchen whilst clients just sit and wait. Poor wine selection too. Don't bother!

We dined here twice in our 2 week vacation and although it is situated on the main street the food is classical and authentic. Service was very good and we all enjoyed both visits.

We went there cos it was Michelen-recommended (not starred). Although the food is nice, the service is not appropriate. We set for 10 to 15 minutes with our empty plates in front of us, while the restaurant was far from full. And one of my friends got a piece of metal in his salad! The waiters apologized for this and... More

Amadeus fully deserves its Michelin listing. Wonderful food and the owner is always attentive and ensures you have a good evening. Expensive but definitely worth it if you want to treat yourself
