Authentic Italian (Roman specifically I think)

I'm no expert, but I would say the food here is pretty authentic as it very much reminded me of a visit to Rome. This is to say it's not the "Italian" (emphasis on the quotes there) food I'm used to in your average American Italian joint. It was good food, and the fried house bread was... read more

I have eaten at A Tavola twice and both times I left saying I would not return. After the second experience I will not return. The first time was a lunch. Maybe it was an off day for the waiter, but I did not feel comfortable in the restaurant. The waiter had an “attitude” that is not easy to describe,... More

It seems like every other block in the metro Paris area has an "Italian" restaurant. Most are fairly average with an assortment of pizzas and a few pasta, veal, and fish dishes. A Tavola is more high end skipping the pizza and offering a greater variety of main dishes. I think that the quality of the food was better than... More

a relatively small restaurant in a totally unglamorous part of town, but the quality of the food could rival any restaurant in Paris. Very friendly owner, it was helped by wife and sons for the evening and never missed a beat. some juicy green olives and some freshly made bread with garlic (almost a focaccia, rather than a bruschetta) welcomed... What a great place! Make reservations it's a popular place and very small and cozy with a fireplace inside. The pasta is delicious and the scaloppine we're equally yummy! The tiramisu was heaven. But what struck me most was the attentive and really friendly staff. They speak French, Italian and English. A true pleasure!

Our normal Friday restaurant was closed so we turned to tripadvisor to look for an alternative - did not disappoint with this recommendation - good food, good service and even with 4 kids things went smooth; we will come back for more soon

Some of the best Italian food we ever had! The food and service was fantastic. It is a small place so you might want to make a reservation. We didn't make a reservation, just showed up at opening time and beat the crowd. It is a short 10-15 minute walk from the hotel and well worth it.
