A perfect location on the small island at the Saone river. We went to the set menu for only 20 euro and it was perfect. The starter with tomato, goat cheese cream and raw ham was amazing. I took the steak as main course and that was delicious. Cooked to perfection and the sauce was great. And I am still... More

We were staying in Chalon sur saone for one night and had wandered into town. This restaurant had a three course meal for €19. The food was good but the desserts were amazing . Would travel that direction again just to enjoy the experience again.

Hard to fault this place. The 19.50€ menu is amazing value. I had some beefy thing where the chop the meat into little strips and then reform it into what looks like a big beefburger. Doesn't sound great but I loved it. The desserts were also worth a mention.

In truth, I think nearly any one of the many restaurants in this street will serve you well, the chance of surviving in the competition must be severe and only the best are still in business. We visited at the end of a short break and wanted food we wouldn't get at home and were especially pleased that the cuisine had... We try the menu for € 32 (or 33?) - and also wines from the area (chief advise us the Domaine Ragot). Food was excellent, the wines were good and special (not typical wines from Burgund). It was a great experience and we will come back to the "la Bourgogne". We can recommend this restaurant to anyone. Good, really good... More

Fantastic menu. Great value and exceptional food. I especially loved the beef charolais, simply amazing. Everything was top notch. If you are in the area Go.... especially at those prices

My wife and I did not experience the poor service reported by other reviewers. On the contrary. We were given a warm welcome on arrival, and the service was good throughout our meal. We both chose the 19 Euro menu which proved to be excellent value for money. My wife chose the home-made terrine, and I chose the encornets (squid... More

The food was delightful and well presented but the service from the female waitress left much to be desired. When she realised our French was poor but we were trying she was not interested and was abrupt and almost hostile. This restaurant is not to be recommended for people who are not conversant in French.

The food was simply wonderful. The beef main cause was simply delicious and I am so glad I went for medium rare to get the bestirs the meat. The starter I had was pâté which was brilliant and the desert of ceremony brûlée was divine. The ambience was lovely with great service. The whole meal was high class and I... More

The restaurant is very good. Ambiance is good. The food was superb. elegant presentation, will prepared. The wine list was also good. Unfortunately the service was very poor. Wine poured and then the wine and water bottles were placed well out of reach as the waiters vanished. A glass of a different wine ordered with the second course appeared late... More
