So, after two lovely weeks in La Croix Valmer (South of France), my partner and I always lessen the blow of returning to London from holiday (and driving to Calais Eurotunnel!), by staying overnight in hotel Lameloise in Chagny (near Beaune). Whilst the overnight rest is needed, the primary reason to stop here is simply to eat at the hotel's... More

What a treat, the most amazing food and service we experienced in Burgundy, and compared to Paris, it was a bargain.

There would be a reason this place has had a three star rating since 2007. I had: L'amuse-bouche Homard breton de pêche côtière L'amuse-bouche Turbot sauvage Côte & selle d'agneau du Limousin The amusements were sublime and the main plates were extraordinary. We didn't order the Turbot but the chef sent the small plates out because there was a slight... More

The food is a vision of colour and beauty which shines with such radiance of perfection. The 96 Corton Charlemagne burnt brown around the edges with its tannins long since cellared away was so smooth and gentle complimenting both the pigeon breasts with wild cherries as well as the delicately steamed turbot. It's not just the food but the ambience... More

Most enjoyable culinary experience. Smart usage of raw materials, design and taste exciting and surprising. Hearty service to the proper extent, attentive, and courteous. Great chef, great service. Thank you.

When we told friends we were going to Borgoune they told us we HAD to go to Lameloise. They ate there a decade ago and still remember it as the best meal they ever had. With a recommendation like that how could we resist! Our meal was a stunner! When you experience food like this you understand why it is... More

We decided to drive from Beaune to Chagny for this dinner and the 15-20 mins drive was all worth it. We made dinner reservations directly with the restaurant. The restaurant is part of a hotel. From the moment we step in to the time we depart, the service staff was excellent and spoke English to accommodate our poor French. The... More

Let me set this up: It was my birthday; my wife wanted something special; she is gluten, dairy and shellfish free; she is a fabulous chef; and, we are both winos! How can a restaurant possibly win? Well Lameloise, Chef Eric and his kitchen staff, and the service by the front of the house maître dîner took this challenge and... More

The Maison Lameloise has three Michelin rosettes and is well worthy of them. This visit was my first to use the hotel and the room was of a suitable standard. Even though it overlooked the main square in front of the hotel I was not aware of undue noise and slept well. My room was 216 euro plus breakfast (26... More

At Maison Lameloise you will enjoy a wonderful and memorable experience, not just a fantastic meal. The food is stunning, as you would expect, and they have a superb wine list too, as befitting a world class restaurant. And so, we had one dish (langoustine), as part of the degustation, which had an exquisite cream of celery component which my... More
