Great alternative to French food

This cafe/restaurant is easy to find just a few minutes out of the main part of Sarlat and we thought it was a breath of fresh air after a week of French food. My crumbed chicken and my wifes pasta were cooked to perfection. And well priced too. We both wished we had found this place earlier in... read more

We were looking for something a little different after a week of French food and my partner was set on pizza. Walking from our hotel towards the old town section we came upon La Petite Italie and it looks like just what we wanted. The pizza was very good and an excellent value. Our waitress was a delight even taking... More

That morning our B&B hosts (Balcon en Foret) had told us that if we were tired of French food to go to this tiny Italian restaurant in Sarlat. We both looked at each other and needed no words - we knew that we would definitely be eating there! The place was definitely a dive of a restaurant, but the food... More

Called in for a family lunch on a visit to beautiful Sarlat. Just out of the old town, but quiet and calm. Really good pizzas and super value. Attentive service. AND FREE WIFI! Well done to La Petite Italie.

It is a small Italian place run by a husband and wife team. If you go in with no higher expectations than decent pizza and pasta at a very reasonable price then you won't be disappointed. If you are looking for more than you will be an unhappy camper.

If you want a respite from foie gras and goose gizzards and duck-this and duck-that, this is a wonderful alternative. It's a simple joint, with no ambiance to speak of, but the food is terrific in a straightforward way, very reasonably priced, with nice wines and good service.

The small restaurant is Italian in every respect, the food, within our food limitations was excellent and th service by the owner/chef's wife and co-owner was also sweet and personal.
