Great cassoulet

Restaurant was good value for money. We started with their garlic soup which was good, but little cold. They could maybe heat the plates before serving it. For main course my husband had duck breast and I had their cassoulet, absolutely delicious. Very generous portions, we could not manage desert.

Share a previous reviewers observations that the food is rustic - but simple is often best and this meal was head and shoulders above anything we have had this trip. One of us had the salade gourmand which consisted of duck, wonderful garlicky potatoes, loads of fresh salads ingredients, smoked duck and foie gras. Yum yum - was sublime. The... More

After a suggestion from the owners at La Blanquette B&B we decided to give this place a go. No reservation, no problem. We were here just prior to the main rush of tourist season so booking may be advisable at busier times. The service was good, the food incredible. One of the best meals I have eaten and certainly the... More

There are many restaurants in Sarlat old town, but this one is worth looking out for. The menu is all based round the local specialities of foie gras, duck and walnut cake, but the cooking is really good and four of us had a great meal. Terrific value for money. Try the walnut wine as an aperitif and the Chardonnay... More

This was a resturant we went to on a day the place we had previously chosen was full. It was a good thing. The food was good (two menus ar €16.50), especially the cassoulet my wife had. We had two local beers. I also would recommend the omelette aux cepes.

Six of us were in Sarlat, with limited time available. We happened upon La Petite Borie and decided to try it for lunch. We all were so very glad that we did -- everyone loved the food. Two had cassoulet, and said it was as good as any they had ever had. I had a wonderful omelet. We dined upstairs,... More

We ate at La Petite Borie our last night in Sarlat. It is an inviting restaurant with friendly staff. Our waiter spoke English and the waitress spoke fluent Spanish to the table next to us. The food was VERY good and at a good price. I had the Confit de Canard. The vin de Noix was an exceptional aperitif!! Would... More

We were recommended this restaurant by the people whom we rented an appartment from, and we weren't disappointed. We were warmly welcomed by the patron, during a busy food service; although we speak a little French, he spoke excellent English, explaining the ingredients/dishes on the menu. To start there was a free garlic soup, this would have tasted much better... More
