A great meal

There are many restaurants in Sarlat old town, but this one is worth looking out for. The menu is all based round the local specialities of foie gras, duck and walnut cake, but the cooking is really good and four of us had a great meal. Terrific value for money. This was a resturant we went to on a day the place we had previously chosen was full. It was a good thing. The food was good (two menus ar €16.50), especially the cassoulet my wife had. We had two local beers. I also would recommend the omelette aux cepes.

Wonderful!! Excellent service and food. Staff were super friendly and went out of their way to accommodate my veggie needs, which is hard in france!! Lovely little place! Excellent value for money. Would highly recommend!!

Six of us were in Sarlat, with limited time available. We happened upon La Petite Borie and decided to try it for lunch. We all were so very glad that we did -- everyone loved the food. Two had cassoulet, and said it was as good as any they had ever had. I had a wonderful omelet. We dined upstairs,... More

We ate at La Petite Borie our last night in Sarlat. It is an inviting restaurant with friendly staff. Our waiter spoke English and the waitress spoke fluent Spanish to the table next to us. The food was VERY good and at a good price. I had the Confit de Canard. The vin de Noix was an exceptional aperitif!! Would... More

Great local cuisine at reasonable price. Friendly and efficient service. House wine was excellent too!

We were recommended this restaurant by the people whom we rented an appartment from, and we weren't disappointed. We were warmly welcomed by the patron, during a busy food service; although we speak a little French, he spoke excellent English, explaining the ingredients/dishes on the menu. To start there was a free garlic soup, this would have tasted much better... More

After reading the reviews, we had high expecttions and were not impressed. You can do much better in Sarlat t the same price. We find most restaurants are priced pretty much the same with imilar offerings, but some are clearly a cut above the others in preparation and presentation. First of all wewere told they were out of cassoulet then... More

The fact that all the poor reviews are French is a testament to how below-par this restaurant is compared to its superior neighbours. Firstly, the garlic soup (which was free) was not very interesting and, to be honest, not worth eating. My foie gras starter was lukewarm at best and the toast that it came on was harder than rock.... More

We are not the best people to be eating out in Périgord as we don't eat meat, but do eat fish. So you can imagine that trying to find something to eat in this bastion of goose liver etc. is a challenge; but one that we embrace with open minds. We were a group of 7 - most of whom... More
