We were recommended this restaurant by the people whom we rented an appartment from, and we weren't disappointed. We were warmly welcomed by the patron, during a busy food service; although we speak a little French, he spoke excellent English, explaining the ingredients/dishes on the menu. To start there was a free garlic soup, this would have tasted much better... More

After reading the reviews, we had high expecttions and were not impressed. You can do much better in Sarlat t the same price. We find most restaurants are priced pretty much the same with imilar offerings, but some are clearly a cut above the others in preparation and presentation. First of all wewere told they were out of cassoulet then... More

The fact that all the poor reviews are French is a testament to how below-par this restaurant is compared to its superior neighbours. Firstly, the garlic soup (which was free) was not very interesting and, to be honest, not worth eating. My foie gras starter was lukewarm at best and the toast that it came on was harder than rock.... More

We are not the best people to be eating out in Périgord as we don't eat meat, but do eat fish. So you can imagine that trying to find something to eat in this bastion of goose liver etc. is a challenge; but one that we embrace with open minds. We were a group of 7 - most of whom... More

if you are looking for traditional French fare cooked perfectly on a low budget, look no further! This place is excellent and was one of the culinary highlights of our trip to Sarlat. Go check it out!

We went along on the recommendation of trip advisor customers and we were not disappointed. We were met outside by the smiling owner who sat us down and gave some recommenations for food and wine. We ate from the local speciality menus of foie gras, duck and walnut tart, all of which were delicious. We were the first customers but... More

A rainy Saturday evening in Sarlat, and the place is packed - but there's always room for two more! The service was indifferent and most of the food really didn't live up to expectations. The first course - white bean & garlic soup was really, really good and it set our expectations accordingly. The next course was warm foie gras... More

Sarlat in August can prove challenging, what with crowds and gift shops. However, La Petite Borie welcomed the four of us (and dog!) with a menu that enabled us to diversify from the ever-present foie gras to enjoy other dishes and some good, and reasonably-priced, wines. The staff were happy to allow one of the party to choose two entrees... More

We went here on our first night in Sarlat. The meal was very nice (omelettes all round) and the service was excellent. We sat upstairs which was quiet to start with and got busier as time went on. However, all in all, an excellent meal and recommended.

This restaurant was a few steps away from where we stayed in Sarlat, and went to try it one night with my husband and daughter. They offer very good value menus, starting at €16 for 3 courses. The food was really delicious and represented very good value for money. The only negative however was one of the waitresses being very... More
