Nice garden location - shame about the smokers

A lovely garden location on a very warm July evening, in the back streets up behind the main old town square. Very popular – we arrived at about 7.30pm without a reservation and had a choice of tables, by 8.30pm the place was virtually full. The set menu at 29 euros is about typical for a 3... read more

This is a superb place, even if our experience was average. The waiter just "forgot" us as we were in the back of the garedn and by the time, the food arrived it was barely warm. Would had it been hot, it would have been very good, but unfortunately, this was not a good experience. They later came and apologized,... More

The 3 course meal took 3 hours to serve and whilst the ambiance in the garden is stunning particularly as the sun sets the food was not that great. the first course had hard bony bits inside the snails - never did work out what they were and being english we didnt complain! and the beef ordered "a point" was... Excellent service and very helpful staff. The surroundings are different but well appointed. Good variety on the menu, well cooked food with superb presentation.

The best thing about this restaurant is the lovely cool garden, which on a very hot Bastille Day evening was most welcome. The service was good, well timed although not particularly friendly. Food was good, but not fabulous. It is not a cheap restaurant, the bill for a set menu and wine was just over 100 eu, so at the... More

There is a difference between wait staff allowing diners to enjoy the meal and not hovering and wait staff just displaying a complete lack of attention and concern to their tables. We experienced the second, and observed many other customers ignored as well. Our waiter literally walked by our table 9 times while one of us signaled we required assistance.... More

We came with no early reservation, my wife and I, our son and daughter in-law, and the Emperor :) our 21 months old grand son. Although the place was quite busy they found a nice table for us. The menu is typical Perigordian however all dishes are accurately cooked and served, honoring raw materials. Service is worth mentioning, it is... More

A very good restaurant in nice setting. Great outside dinning - shaded garden. Friendly staff and decent food menus. Our child liked kids menu.

If you want to get away from the usual tourist traps and have a memorable evening go to Le Presidial. Some of the other comments about the leisurely service could possibly have some truth but for us we found the whole experience dining here as a great one. If we are out for the evening I am not in a... More

Le Presidial was the first place we ate in Sarlat (by the recommendation from the owners of La Lanterne). I'm so glad we ate here, it was one of the best meals of our trip!
