Some good, some ok.

Ok, it would be difficult to bad confit in this town, and was good here too. The potatoes that came with it were far too greasy, under seasoned and not crispy. The duck 'burger' was excellent. Loads of foie gras and even more duck breast...

One of our party had a bum knee so we decided we couldn't walk all the way to the more highly rated restaurant where we had a reservation, Le Bistro de L'Octroi. Instead our B&B secured a reservation at Le Bistrot. It was somewhat disappointing. We had the misfortune of being seated right next to a dumbwaiter that apparently carried... More

Foie Gras was top. Duck confit was juicy and very tasty. Service was very friendly and effective. We were given a nice table just looking at the cathedral. Prices are around the same quality prices in Sarlat

We ate outdoors and once again it was important to arrive early since this restaurant filled quickly. Often it was the only restaurant full which is indicative of the quality of the food and service and the moderate pricing. It's a lovely setting and whether at lunch or dinner you are right in the heart of everything. We ate there... More

I ate alone, and felt relaxed about that. The restaurant was lively. The soup (I had hoped it might feature vegetable matter!) from the fixd price menu was finished, at 7.30 in the evening, so I had a 'delice' something...smooth pate in rougher pate, with a few salad leaves and toast. Nice. It was accompanied by a delicious glass of... More

Came for dinner, had the 28 euro pp set three course menu which was good value – had the frois gros chicken in curry as main and crème Brulee dessert. Disappointed that the curry seems out of a packet and just on the side of the plate rather than the chicken actually cooked in the curry; nice ambience sitting outside;... More

Good quality authentic french food in Sarlat. I had the entrecote steak and my wife had fish and both were excellent. They were very accomodating to my wife's special dietary requirements. We got talking to another couple who have a holiday home in the region and they said they always come to the Le Bistrot when they visit as they... More

We were staying in a gite outside Grolejac, for the second time (a wonderful gite), and have been visiting Sarlat on and off for maybe 30 years. And have had some dreadful dinners! The gite 'book' recommended this restaurant, so three generations went on a Monday evening (closed Sunday). Age 1 to 68. We all had different things - perfect... More

We had dinner at this restaurant on our recent visit to Sarlat. I chose entrecote steak and my husband chose duck. My steak was excellent - very tender and medium/well done as ordered. My husband enjoyed the duck, but the portion was far too large. My steak came with French fries, which were very greasy and rather cold and my... More

I don't think they pretend to be anything other than a "reliable Food supplier" , with a little class. That's what they provide. Good, quick , friendly service , right in the middle of town. Would go back any time I was in town.
