Best Meal in Sarlat

True fine dining in Sarlat, thankfully away from the tourist crowds. Service is warm and efficient. The ambiance is modern and stylish. The food was excellent. All dishes were great, but the squab was a stand-out. I also ordered a very odd dessert choice -- black olive macaron with strawberries... read more

The sole criticism of this restaurant is that it is located slightly inconveniently by the train station and not really walkable from the old town center. Once inside the restaurant, the elegant décor and welcoming ambience make one forget this quickly. The food is divine - traditional and farm fresh with a creative delicately flavored spin. From the foie gras... More

First michelin star experience and Le Grand Bleu delivered. Beautiful and delicious food, perfect wine recommendations and attentive service. 15-20 min walk out of city center was only negative.

The stunning cuisine here actually caused a repeat visit within our week stay in the area! The young chef clearly is a master of inventive cuisine with fresh local product creating imaginative and amazing tastes. The value of the 50€ menu was amazing including choices of fois gras, langoustines, and killer caramelized riz de veau (sweetbreads) which were crunchy and... More

Folks have told me that if you want fine dining leave Sarlat. Well that is not true. Dined at Le Grand Bleu tonite and it was excellent and dserves a mention on Michelin. Nice surround with well placed tables. Staff was very attentive but not overpowering. Wine list was comprehensive regarding wines of Dordogne, Burgundy, Loire and Medoc. There were... More

Creatively designed and well executed cuisine. As expected, this is a restaurant that works for and deserves its Michelin star. The restaurant was shared with locals and regulars, and a smattering of tourists. The staff was competent and gracious with English, which mirrored the service. The Amuse was a fun and delightful melange of flavors. The fish was fresh and... More

This is not just a restaurant, it is an opera house dedicated to the Art of Cuisine. Let the Chef Team guide you and you'll see. Best Food ever.

One of the best Michelin starred restaurants we have visited. On holiday with two small children (6 & 8), the restaurant was very relaxed with a fantastic children's menu, even for the fussiest of children. Fantastic and elegant menu, wine list, friendly staff, definetely visit again if in the area. maître d' was a warm a lovely lady, when we... More
