Staying in Bergerac at the other half's parents holiday home. I had the lobster starter and fillet of beef main and it was great. Washed down with a bottle of Cahor Malbec. Great meal well worth a visit.

A beautiful summer day, the terrace over the river, the gorgeous view over the Brantôme abbey, a Relais et Châteaux establishment, everything should have been in place for a wonderful experience. However, it turned out to be quite disappointing. First, food clearly lacked originality and creativity. The 49 € menu offered stuffed duck liver and "magret de canard", two dishes... More

We liked everything the food, rooms and service were impeccable. This is not a cheap rendezvous but well worth it for a special occasion. Such a romantic setting you cannot fail to love it. And there are special deals to be had if you search the web.

Staying in the hotel, we had a bed and breakfast package. The Perigord breaks]fast is worth the extra money as it is more substantial. In any case, all tasty and well presented.

Absolutely amazing meal and lovely wine from an exceptional cellar. Great service courteous and understanding -we ate from the 65€ set meal and between the 4,adults all options were eaten Foie GRAS to lamb to monkfish all brilliantly prepared and served. As a non sweet person even I enjoyed the deserts. If in the area you have to give it... More

The set course lunch on the terrace on a sunny day is seriously romantic and delicious. Pretty as a piucture and food very good, particularly for the price.

We had booked in advance and were eagerly anticipating having dinner in the restaurant of the hotel where we were staying. It was superb and exceeded our expectations in every way.

The view, ambience and setting makes this place perfect but you do pay the price for it being in brantome. If you have a driver amongst you, try moulin de roc in champagnac de belair, 6 km away and Michelin star for only 29euro for set lunch menu. But in all honest this is one of the best restaurants I've... More

When we first arrived at Brantôme we couldn't believe what a fantastic location the hotel had. A very pretty building that over looked the river and 16th Century bridge. Unfortunately this impression was very quickly spoilt, when we learnt that we weren't staying there at all. All that building contains is the restaurant, bar, lounge and a small reception. The...
