Description: The restaurant Trotthus in Riquewihr can accommodate 40 guests and immediately wins by its warmth and its Alsatian atmosphere. The thick and old west wall is simply the wall of the rampart built during the year 1291! The setting is ancient: large exposed beams, some of which date back to the early sixteenth century, a collection of antiques collected by the owner of the house and linked to winemaking, an imposing and ancient wine press on which you can dine or drink a glass. As of February 10, 2012, the Restaurant "Au Trotthus" reopened for the 2012 season and welcomes you with a new formula and a new Chef. The Chef, Philippe Aubron, having knocked nearly 20 years around the world - from Japan to Australia and to the Caribbean - decided to drop his pots in Riquewihr. His Gourmet cuisine, inventive and refined, makes extensive use of the produce of Alsace and will satisfy the most demanding palates.

Place was recommended by local who said this is one of two best restaurants in Riquewihr. We were not disappointed. Cosy interior, friendly service and very good gourment-type food which is nicely presented. We opted for the set menu, a three course dinner with 3 glasses of wine - and this we felt was a good choice (arnd EUR 100... More

Sat outside in a very atmospheric courtyard/alley on the edge of what was once the Jewish quarter. The chef was an expert host and immediately we felt relaxed and in the mood for good food - which is exactly what we got. We went for a menu which included three wines. Mackerel tartare was perfect with the local white wines... More

The food here is exceptional and very clever. The chef came out to meet us which was a lovely touch. We just found the maître d very strange. We were forced to have a booking time of 8.15 despite the Resturant being empty when we arrived and did not fill up. We also had to order all 3 courses up... More

We stumbled on this restaurant by mere chance after having met the chef at a local cellardoor. We had plans to visit a Michelin star restaurant, but were convinced to visit Philippe's restaurant instead (chef is ex Tokyo, Melbourne, Caribbean.....) Delightful. A smorgasbord board of fine Alsace Wines, beautiful food, and so NOT tourist Riquewihr. We were enchanted. Should you... More

My husband and I had a great meal at Au Trotthus. The service was very warm, welcoming, and attentive. The chef came out to personally greet us. We both had a 6 course pre-set lunch memo and were impressed by each of the meal items. Overall, the experience was thoroughly enjoyable and I would recommend this place to anyone visiting... More

We visited with our 2 years old daughter. The staff was very kind and we felt really comfortable. The food was also excellent having some taste of Japanese although it is French. Not so heavy and I could finish all three dishes in 3 course menu. I strongly recommend this restaurant if you visit Riquewihr.
