Description: The restaurant Trotthus in Riquewihr can accommodate 40 guests and immediately wins by its warmth and its Alsatian atmosphere. The thick and old west wall is simply the wall of the rampart built during the year 1291! The setting is ancient: large exposed beams, some of which date back to the early sixteenth century, a collection of antiques collected by the owner of the house and linked to winemaking, an imposing and ancient wine press on which you can dine or drink a glass. As of February 10, 2012, the Restaurant "Au Trotthus" reopened for the 2012 season and welcomes you with a new formula and a new Chef. The Chef, Philippe Aubron, having knocked nearly 20 years around the world - from Japan to Australia and to the Caribbean - decided to drop his pots in Riquewihr. His Gourmet cuisine, inventive and refined, makes extensive use of the produce of Alsace and will satisfy the most demanding palates.

My husband and I had a great meal at Au Trotthus. The service was very warm, welcoming, and attentive. The chef came out to personally greet us. We both had a 6 course pre-set lunch memo and were impressed by each of the meal items. Overall, the experience was thoroughly enjoyable and I would recommend this place to anyone visiting... More

Enjoyed a fantastic meal accompanied by local wines. The setting in Riquewihr, the ambiance and the friendliest service just added to a wonderful experience. We can only recommend it!

We visited with our 2 years old daughter. The staff was very kind and we felt really comfortable. The food was also excellent having some taste of Japanese although it is French. Not so heavy and I could finish all three dishes in 3 course menu. I strongly recommend this restaurant if you visit Riquewihr.

My husband and I had lunch here on a very busy Sunday during Xmas market madness in Riquewihr. We had a very limited choice of three set menus and when we asked to have a more expensive set menu, the waiter went into a flap and said that was definitely not possible on this day. The food came out 'bento... More

This restaurant is well deserved of it's high rating on Trip advisor. Don't be put off by other reviews on here about children not being welcome. On both our visits here there were well behaved children who were welcomed as they should be. For kids that rule their parents McDonald's is never too far away. Now to the food and... More

The chef came out personally to see us and we had wonderful service at this unique restaurant in Riquiwiehr. We had read that they served sushi. No sushi but there was an asian influence in the menu making it a unique experience in this wonderful little medieval village. The food tasted wonderful and was very fresh!

Excellent restaurant and worth a visit. The restaurant has a nice setting and has a comfortable setup. The service is very good and attentive and the Chef is visiting the table to have a chat. The food was really good. They offer a la carte and have several menu’s and you can get a excellent wine arrangement for 15 euro... More

We had a wonderful experience at this Bistro . We were warmly greeted and the chef came by to introduce himself. The menu was very reasonably priced for the quality. There were vegetarian options and the food was light and perfectly cooked. The best news was there were no heavy cheese dominant items such as Tarte Flambé as seen in... More
