Enjoyed a dinner outside and all was fine. The menu for children were good. And they had very good icecream. All in all it was fine compared to what they charge.

Over a period of 14 evenings we ate out of our villa on about four or five occasions, three times at this restaurant. We found it a very pleasant experience dining there. The staff were extremely pleasant and very helpful at all times. Maybe it is in our nature to communicate with them and they responded brilliantly. We each chose... More

Since Riquewihr is a tourist destination, the restaurants in town are expensive, and judging from the reviews on Trip Advisor there are problems with many of them. My guess is that the attitude of many restaurant owners is that since most customers are tourists and will not be back, they do not need to pay much attention to the quality... More

I think I'm getting this: Riquewihr is a tourist town and, as we all know, we can throw anything at tourists, as they won't be coming back. Our waitress was pressed initially but, as the evening progressed and the restaurant emptied, she had more time for us, so let's say the service went from indifferent to good. Most of us... More

We happened upon this restaurant as our favorite place was closed for vacation and Au Tire was one of the few remaining restaurants with a kitchen still open (we arrived around 2030). The food was good but lacked finesse. My wife’s seafood dish was well cooked and tasted great. However, the plate it was served upon was too small for... More

This restaurant was our choice for lunch during a river cruise stop in touristy Riquewihr, based on a wine book. We were delighted with this typically Alsacian winestub/bistro and our choice of the daily menu "le terroir." The saucisse de magret de canard au fois gras (duck pate with fois gras) served on a mesclun salad; veal with morilles (absolutely... More

We had a lovely meal at this restaurant during our week stay in Riquewihr and would definitely recommend it. Most dining experiences are rated on what you order and the stand out dish at Au Tire is the rack of lamb. My husband's steak was also excellent, well priced good wine, lovely desserts and coffee, nice atmosphere - what more... More

We were a little Leary of a restuarant on the Main Street of a tourist filled charming town. However the food was light and delicious. Great fish in a meat and cheese heavy area. Waitstaff were attentive and made great suggestions about the menu. Would go there again if and when we return.

We were excited to have our first Alsatian meal, and the experience here was awful. The menus, unlike most other restaurants in Riquewihr, were only in French, and the servers didn't speak much English and were not interested in helping us. We got very little attention from the wait staff in general. My husband had Choucroûte and found it very... More

Au Tire Bouchon is one of these little places typical of Alsace. An open courtyard, kitsch decor on the walls, wobby tables etc.. Since our last visit here two years ago the service has gone slightly upmarket. The menu tries to guide diners away from the Tarte Flambe and the Choucroute Garni, but for a light lunch the Tarte Flambe... More
