Hearty Alsatian Cuisine

We came here on the recommendation of our hotel after I had asked for traditional Alsatian food and boy it did not disappoint! The meal was hearty, like the kind that sticks to your ribs on a chilly fall night. Prices were relatively inexpensive. Portions are huge! You could probably easily get... read more

This restaurant was highly recommended to us and did not disappoint. All four who dined chose different selections from the menu and each was beautifully presented and delicious. The staff were very obliging and the wine selection excellent. Overall a memorable dining experience.

Pass on the much hyped Chacroute (sp?) which is a bunch of random meats (wieners, pigs feet, etc.) on a giant pile of sauerkraut with a bottle of riesling on top. Seriously, skip that. Do the escargot, some onion soup (!!), a flambee (Alsatian pizza) and all the creamy dishes. Super indulgent, heavy and delicious in uber cozy environs. What... More

I wrote 4 of the top TA dining choices for Riquewihr on my notes before we arrived in the village. Upon seeing each one and reviewing each menu we chose this one because of location, price, and menu selection. We couldn't have been happier! Fabulous dry local Riesling by the glass for $2.50 as well as great draft for the... More

A great choice in Riquewihr, especially if you like salads/lighter options. The only restaurant in the town as far as I can tell that offered salmon and beef carpaccio appetizers. Their salads (there are 4-5 options, each comes in 2 sizes) were fantastic - super fresh greens, large portions, even sprinkled with flax! My salmon carpaccio was so delicious! A... More

That´s what you´re looking for, when you´re in Riquewihr and wanna eat some typical food from that region. The service is nice and the food good and not too expensive.

This restaurant is an old time favourite of mine when taking friends to this picturesque medieval town on the Route des Vins (Wine Route of Alsace). In summer there is a romantic court yard for al fresco dining. The restaurant offers all kinds of local specialities, such as "Flammekueche" (flamed tart, a kind of a pizza), sauerkraut, quiche lorraine etc.... More

The food was really tasteful and good. Had the Quiche Lorraine entree, and that would have been enough for a full lunch meal.
