Countryside Alsatian atmosphere

A traditional, old style restaurant, we have been twice in two visits in Alsace, and we have never been disappointed. The place itself is simple, and its biggest extravaganza consists in hundred of coasters hanging from the ceiling. The food is Alsatian country style, the first time we went I had... read more

We arrived quite late at the restaurant, and were a large enough group of eight people. After checking with the staff, we were seated, and a young lad set the table for us. The surroundings were very cosy and quirky. There are beermats from all around the world hanging from the ceiling, however this managed to blend in well with... More

A homely, warm, cozy restaurant that shouldn't be missed! Traditionally decorated and in one of the most beautiful villages in France. We've been here several times and the food is always quite exceptional! We have our favorite plates, but we always have to try new things; it's always been so delicious! The family that owns and runs the place welcomes... More

Because of the location of the restaurant, right in the corner of the Grande Rue and Charles de Gaulle, the number of outside tables is very limited, so the meals are inside. As usual in this region, they don't believe in air cond nor opening windows to get a glimpse of fresh air, so it was rather warm inside (it... More

nice ambiance, but the food was a little disappointing. We ordered choucrout sand got a bunch of sauerkraut and large pieces of ham, lard. Maybe that's the original way to get it, but we were a little surprised to say the least.

Went for dinner on a quiet monday evening to this comfotable, easy-going restaurant. Had a salad With Munster cheese and smoked duck, the best scallops I've had in years and an excellent chocolate creme brulee with pistachio ice cream for dessert. The prices for both wine and food were very reasonable. My warmest recommendations!!

Had our dinner here on the first night in Eguisheim. Table was booked weeks in advance by email but we arrived an hour late because we lost our way into the village. Surprisingly the table was still there for us on arrival despite the fact that the restaurant was quite busy that Monday night. Had to choose the dishes by... More

We had a nice meal here - tried one of the choucroute dishes. It was quite tasty. Service was OK, but not particulary attentive. We ate in the upstairs dining room, which was pleasantly full. The place filled early (apparently this is normal), so were glad we had made reservations.

Being from Alsace myself, it is always a pleasure to return to my region and find a restaurant like A la ville de Nancy. I invited a group of friends from different countries and we were all impressed by the decoration of the place, the friendliness and efficiency of the staff, the quality of the food and wine, and the... Hearty portions of typical Alsacian cuisine offer great value for money at "Stoerckler's". The decor is traditional and very cosy and makes you feel almost like you're back in the middle ages, in other words, great atmosphere. Service is friendly and efficient. You can eat downstairs in the "pub" area or head upstairs to the slightly more formal but still... More
