My husband and I were touring the Alsace with my cousin and her husband. As they are from France, they made all of the reservations so we didnt know what we would be doing. We were the only customers in the restaurant because it was the opening of the Christmas market in nearby Strasbourg. It was definitely our gain! The... More

This is one of the best culinary surprise that you kind have here... if you are ready to play the game; i.e.. accept to follow the rules of a gastronomic restaurant : the quality of food is great, and so is the service, but since everything is made of fresh ingredients , and prepared just "à la demande", then you... Very helpful waitress who did not push extra wine onto us, to her own disadvantage, as we would have drunk it! Wonderful food, not a great quantity, but very well cooked and presented. Of the season....quail, plums etc.

What a place! You feel welcome from the second you show up. You are taken very well care of by the competent waiter. Wonderfull food. Vegetable terrin, chickenbreast in crayfish-sauce and cheese and icecream for dessert. Excellent wine as well. If you visit Barr, take care that you don't miss this restaurant.

You feel very wellcome here. It is like a small living room and there is only 5 - 6 tables. The decor is made with taste and you feel the good atmosphere once you enter. There were 2 menus to choose from. One priced at 29 eur and another at 42 eur. We had the smallest and it was a... More

I found this restaurant through tripadvisor and had an execllent meal here on a Monday (when most restaurants seem to be closed in France). This is a small family owned restaurant with a choice of 2 set meals (which do have some options). The wine can be ordered by glass or per bottle and when we asked for Klevener, the... More

On a cold night we did the rounds of the restaurants in Barr to see what they had to offer and decided on this one as it seemed low-key and different. We were welcomed by the owner and for the remainder of the evening received her knowledgeable and gracious service. The dining area was elegant and comfortable, not "stuffy". The... More

While driving the Alsacian wine route, we decided to use Trip Advisor to select a restaurant 'near us' via my iPhone. Up came this little gem located in the pretty town of Barr. Special does not do justice to the place! The service from the husband and wife team was frankly superb. Knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly. Qualities so often very... More
