Poor!!!!

Went out last night for a nice meal...or so we thought! The waitress came and took our order, then brought my main course before my starter. She took both main courses back to the kitchen and eventually arrived with my starter. Main courses came and I had 2 different colours of PEA ???? and the... read more

Arrived just after noon on Sunday and for some reason my booking was not in the diary, but the waitress was unfazed and said not to worry, before giving us a choice of 3 or 4 tables. Service was friendly and swift. We ordered Sunday roasts x 2. It came out in about 12 minutes, very hot and with a... More

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. We got a table no problem and the food was delicious, the pies are huge and full of flavour!! The staff are friendly but seemed rushed off their feet, I got the feeling that they were short staffed & I didn't like being called 'guys' by the staff, it's a pet hate of mine and... More

we have eaten here on many occations and the food and service has been good. The waitresses are frendly and efficient..My reason for 3 stars is that on the last THREE occations we have been overcharged. so check your bill. We were charged for something we didnt have and the manager did correct it without question. It seems to regular... More

Lovely and warm with open fires. Good range on the menu and good portion size. Reasonable prices, esp before 5pm.

Booked a table for mothers day, specifically requesting a high chair, arrived 10 mins before and we're shown to our table, very cramped and squashed in the room we were in, each having to ask other people to move slightly in order to sit down. Then being told the highchairs were all booked out! When we reminded them we had... More

Having read quite a few reviews, you may have been put off visiting; however, on my latest visit to my home village pub, I found it to be on good form and would give it 3.5 stars if it were possible on Trip Advisor. Cestrian's, who have a wealth of choice both in Chester and surrounding areas, should be made... More

We had a lovely meal. The pub is very quaint and idyllic in a lovely village. It was very warm and welcoming and bustling busy with eaters and drinkers. Our meals arrived in good time and were cooked to perfection. We love the vintage inn chain that runs this pub and we will be back for another meal in the... More
