Hard cheese!

Reading the reviews previously which was a mixed bag I wasn't sure if it was worth visiting. As a fan of the 'Vintage Inn' chain of gastro pubs, thought I would try it out. It was a bad omen that I wasn't able to find it at first and should have heeded the warning! Upon taking a seat, we waited... read more

Having previously dined here and always being happy with staff and food our recent experience was extremely disappointing. The pate was served on a large plate with the pate in a small circular bowl with what appeared to be a thick layer of cold fat on the top accompanied by 2 extremely small pieces of toast and what must have... An attractive pub inside and offering good pub food. I had an online offer of a food discount so it was very good value. My 'chicken forestiere' was a half chicken with nice vegetables and my husband's merlot beef pie was equally good. The 'mini puddings with coffee' are excellent, and small portions were all we needed after generous main... More

we did a three and a half mile walk around the village which was lovely and called in to have a drink. They had a good selection of beers and the two we had were in excellent condition. We sat outside as we had our dog with us and the weather was nice. The only problem was the number and... More

First visit here in 10 years. Nice clean and traditional country pub. Staff and service was good and no complaints. Food was decent standard and there were some decent ales. Worth a visit

Always busy so advisable to book ahead....but always welcoming and friendly, particularly Lydia, with a great sense of humour, and Charlotte, who wanted to make sure we had a good time. Great atmosphere in a quaint country pub. Food was excellent, as always, and not extortionately priced....£7.99 for a good-sized gammon steak with fried egg and fresh pineapple! Avoid the... More

Nice pub in pretty village serving really lovely food and drinks. Well worth a visit or 2 or maybe 3. It is very reasonably priced. The staff are so friendly and the décor is beautiful. A lot of parking spaces and also an outside area for the good weather.

Nice pub in pretty village serving very good food. Try the mussels which are served in am unusual way but really tasty and the pies are excellent. Well worth a visit. Reasonably priced too.

I visited here with my partner it was a spare of the moment thing. We were slightly confused how to order so I just went to the bar, maybe this should be made more clear. Food was lovely and a fair price! Would defiantly visit again :)
