I've visited here numerous times in the past. The pub is a lovely country pub, lots of wood, odd wooden seats and stone floor. In the winter they have fires to light which makes it lovely and cosy. I have found that when its really busy, the service is not quite so good and they often sell out of items... More

My husband and I had belly pork and a burger, both of which were excellent. We hadn't eaten here for a while and were pleasantly impressed. We used the Gourmet card and this was accepted without any problems. The staff were really helpful and we didn't wait long for our meals. Will visit again.

I was in a party of six on Thursday 18 September. We enjoyed three course meals with coffee. The service was good. Ambiance was good. No problems and no complaints.

The food was really nice but the service was awful. We arrived at 6pm after booking a table for three and waited half an hour for our main course. We then received our sweet at 7.45pm!! There were obviously not enough staff!!

Visited with my husband for a pub lunch which was very nice. I had one of the specials, lamb gigot, chips, tomato, peas & homemade battered onion rings. My husband had battered cod loin and chips. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait, but it was only 20 minutes. The food was hot and tasty and nicely... More

Came here again after not eating here for a while.. We had to pre order as it was a later table.. Which I think is ridiculous as it's only the Sunday menu which isn't really hard to cater for!!! Also I asked for mash instead of roast potatoes. Which at 2 pound extra and getting very very small amount is... More

Took my son for lunch....he wanted the ribeye steak but was disappointed to learn that they had run out....it was midday!! He had the rump instead....I assumed that the chips were home made, only to be told, they weren't!!! It also looked as though the peas we're out of a tin! I had the belly pork, which was delicious but... More

We decided to try this pub again after 12 months going elsewhere. What a disappointment we really wanted to make this work! We had to send the steak back as it was inedible. The replacement meal was ok but very average. The quality of food is not good. Again there was no New Zealand Sauvignan Blanc on offer an omission pointed... More

Visited The Red Lion for lunch today with my husband. The pub is located in a picturesque village and itself is characterful and charming with plenty of outdoor seating to front and rear. Really pleasant inside and out. We chose to eat outside. The menu was varied and in my opinion prices were very reasonable. We both ate the same... More
