Pleasant lunch time pub.

I met a friend for lunch in here, the lady bar staff was friendly, the pub is really nicely decorated and we sat in the very comfortable leather seats. I ordered chips for us both, which where nice but not very much for the money. Would return though as has a nice ambience...

As a late Christmas get together with our family we took them to the Red Lion. The table was pre-booked and the food pre-ordered from the Festive Menu.We were asked to take a 6.30pm sitting instead of our preferred 7.00, why, I don't know! It was very quiet when we arrived and we were pretty much the only people sitting... More

6 of us attended this restaurant, for our Christmas get together. I had booked in advance and emailed them our food choices. Very easy process! We arrived to a warm welcome and were showed to our seat. Great location right next to an open fire. The food arrived and not one complaint from any of us!!!!!! Believe me if there... More

A lovely welcome awaited us, friendly atmosphere, nice surroundings and a log fire. We pre-ordered and the food came only when everyone had arrived. Two of us were vegetarians and they were happy to swap the set meal for their savoury Eccles cake. Everyone enjoyed all three courses. We topped the this off with a liqueur coffee. Our main waitress,... More

We visited yesterday for the first and definitely the last time!!! The place was pretty quiet and we found ourselves a table, after ordering at the bar we had a good wait for our food which eventually tuned up luke warm at best, the gammon was fatty and greasy with an egg that looked like it has been cooked the... Been before a number of times, food good for a chain and location lovely. Service consistently mediocre, friendly but poor. This time veg & 2 main courses were cold so sent back, drinks sat on bar for 20 mins (we could see them) so i went to bar and collected myself. This may be the last straw, unless on a... More

Pre-booked online, shown to our table on arrival. Other diners arriving later than us received the menus and drinks before us. We were forgotten and were sitting in the middle of the restaurant. The waitress dealt with bigger tables before the tables with 2 people. I ordered a pint and was told the barrel needed changing, 15 minutes later I... More

Visited on a Saturday evening as attracted by the steak supper offer - 3 course for £20. However this offer menu is a bit confusing only the sirloin steak is included in the £20 offer. Other meals are individually priced. Having said that the 3 courses did not add up to much more than that so not bad. Food was... More

We tried the pub for the first time last night after spending a long day decorating with my parents. After searching online we stumbled accross the red lion so decided to book. We were pleasantly surprised by this pub. Great prices, fantastic service (blonde haired girl Laura?) And delicious, well presented food. Place was busy and obviously popular. Would return... More
