Busy, good portions, too LOUD

Four of us came for a meal on a Saturday night - the place was packed. With bare wooden floors, no discernible sound proofing on the ceilings or walls and a couple of function rooms which, although they look like they could easily be closed off with doors they were open to the main room and this... read more

They know what they are doing in terms of foods, serving size is good. However we found them overpriced for a Bistro, lack of services, air-con was partially off at a 28+ degrees afternoon/night. There are absolutely no services, you can expect more services from a Macs, and all of their staffs got this funny attitude, maybe because they are... More

Last time I went here, the food wasn't awesome, the service was pretty poor and I recommended patrons be prepared to cook their on steaks when it is busy if they wanted them cooked a particular way. It was busy on Saturday night so that is exactly what my partner and I did with the following benefits: we saved 12... More

The baby chairs are horribly dirty. Instruct your staff to clean the chairs or add to existing cleaning schedule. As for table cleaning instruct your staff not to spray the table. instead spray the towel to ensure over spray isnt sprayed onto your customers in the line of fire. Food and atmosphere is good.

Enjoy coming here frequently for a good meal (with lots of selections from pizzas, normal pub food and steaks (cook your own or let the chef do his thing)) and a good selection of beers, regularly updated to stay fresh. Friendly and attentive staff and a good atmosphere for all. Some evenings do get busy so a booking always helps... More

First and foremost, get the Beer Battered Chips with Aioli ($8). Funnily enough they've taken the local famous off the official menu replaced it with chips and mustard. No. Just get the aioli. Blue Gum is a step up from 'the standard pub fare' in the area. Meals here are fresh and fun. Honourable mentions to the Mushroom Burger ($16)... More

We had our engagement party with 60 guests. With most of our guests going home hungry! The food was late, with big gaps between servings. We were constantly asked by guests how long the food would be & we relayed to staff that the food was coming out too slowly, however the large gaps continued. Some guests even got that hungry... More

Have visited the "Blue Gum" for many years now - not too frequently might I add, but enough to see a pleasant change over time. There are many beers on tap - both local and national, with more in bottles behind the counter. The staff are always pleasant and willign to offer suggestions for a drink should you have trouble... My partner and I have dinner at the Blue Gum about once a month. We always have the grass fed scotch fillet (medium rare) with beer battered chips. Sometimes it is glorious. Sumptuous and tasty. Every 3rd time or so it is a disaster. Sometimes a medium rare steak comes out blue. Sometimes the steaks are more fat than meat.... More
