Bad service and expensive

The food was actually ok. But when the waitress asked us to bring our menus to the table ourselves - and still expecting 20pct tips - we were done with that place. We only used it for breakfast as way too expensive. Lots of old food under the table from the previous evening is not what you expect... read more

The restaurant is in the beautiful Lajitas Spa and Golf resort. So, it is beautiful. The patios, decks, fountains, and the view, are gorgeous. The food is really good. Our waiter was a little confused, but he finally got it figured out. The bar that is across the open walkway next door is great. Overall I would recommend this place... More

The first thing you should know about the Lajitas Resort as a whole, which directly affects this Candelilla restaurant, is that the power frequently goes out. I don't think the restaurant itself has much to do with it or much it can do about it. Therefore, for the meal we had, the beer wasn't very cold and the ceiling fans... More

We were at the RV park and Father and wife stayed at Lajitas Golf Resort. Booked a Mother's day brunch with my husband and daughter, father and his wife for 10 am. Arrived at 10 sharp, waited 15 minutes to be seated. Another 15 minutes before we were waited on, and yet another 20 minutes before buffet was ready. They... More

Went for breakfast with a group of friends, 4 people total. No other customers were in the dining room except for us. The service was poor quality and the waitress did not really know what she was doing. It took 20 minutes for a waitress to serve us. Since it was breakfast, she failed to return to see if we... Lajitas offers a fantastic setting overlooking the Rio Grande, Mexico a wow Golf Course, the mountains and so on. Regarding the restaurant the service is good and some of the food is good but I've had a few disappointing dishes !!

Having stayed at the Lajitas resort twice now and worked through the complete menu at the restaurant a couple of times I can say is that it meets the requirement of providing a good hot meal at the end of an active day without many frills. The menu is limited and the food quality varies. Steaks are generally overpriced (in... More

The cafe was quiet and thre was a steady stream of guests. Food was good but not great although the service was excellent. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich and it had been pulled awhile ago. My wife had the tortilla soup was was excellent and slightly spicy. Would have loved to play the golf course if there had been... More

Ate at the Thirsty Goat Saloon, across from Candelilla Cafe. Food came from Candelilla. When food was delivered it was very warm and delicious. Atmosphere was very pleasing. As Lajitas is off the beaten path, things are a little pricey, but that should be expected, and the bartender was very courteous.

The food is okay - but it's really way more expensive than you might expect. An omelette is $13! And it's just average. Nothing special. But - it's the only place to eat for 12 miles. So - pack a lunch.
