Lovely traditional restaurant

Lovely traditional family run restaurant. Gorgeous food, lady owner was fantastic, despite her not speaking any English and us Not speaking any Italian. No mean feat as I cannot eat gluten and they managed to give me a starter on a rice cake instead of bread and gluten free bread sticks with my... read more

This restaurant was rated highly on trip advisor and very close to where we were staying so all sounded good. We therefore went in on the way back from a mornings visit to the town to see if we could book for the evening. We were greeted (ushered away) by a stern old lady who spoke no English and made... Lovely traditional family run restaurant. Gorgeous food, lady owner was fantastic, despite her not speaking any English and us Not speaking any Italian. Food very well prepared and extremely tasty, price-value was good. Not only typical Italian dishes but also specialties. The staff was very caring and polite. Even though the interior doesn't seem cozy at the first, I would recommend to enjoy a meal in this restaurant for its very good quality.

There are manly restaurants in Desenzano down by the lake, whereas this restaurant is up the hill a bit off the lake. However, if you miss this restaurant you will miss one of the best sea food restaurants with an Italian flair on your vacation or perhaps in Italy. Elise and Guido are the owners. He is the chef and... More

My wife and I ate here one evening. Friendly service and not overbearing. Neither of our main courses were memorable although perfectly satisfactory; the deserts however were quite lovely particularly the tiramisu.

An ideal place to come if you want a quiet delicious meal with friendly service. The lady owner gave attentive service and although her English was not fluent we had no trouble understanding her. We immediately felt relaxed and appreciated the 'amuse bouche' as well as the complimentary nuts and petit fours at the end of the meal. Delicious starter... More

Came here in May 2014 - place was empty and looked like a dungeon at Dracula's castle. No English spoken and menu no real help. Had Spaghetti with lobster - should be hint of lobster as shreds so small. She brought 'Amuse Bouche' three unpalatable selections which were returned untouched. Main course was Sea Bass - it was very white... More

I'm an Irish man over in Italy on holidays with my Sicilian girlfriend. We had dinner last night in the Croce D'oro. My girlfriend had the goose liver pate while i had the Norwegian Salmon Bruschetta for starter. Both were absolutely delicious and we both agreed the pate (freshly made in the restaurant) was the best either of us had... More

This is a good quality place to eat, nothing fancy but classic Italian home cooking. My tuna tartare was great, although I felt the mixes fish spiedini were a little disappointing being mainly squid with some small pieces of fish. The desserts were many and excellent, Zappa Inghlese is highly recommended! Wine list is local and cheap as are the... More
